Waffle House — Restaurant in Selma

This used to be one of the Waffle Houses around. We have been here many times. I don't know what has happened. I wish I could give less than 1 star. I don't think it is understaffing because it appears same number of people work there. Went by on a Thursday night about 11:30pm. Went in there were maybe 3 tables with people sitting at them eating, the other tables had not been cleaned off, so no where to sit unless you wanted to sit where someone else just finished eating. No greeting at all from anyone there, no I will clean you a table in a minute, no welcome to Waffle House, no nothing. A man that was sitting at one of the tables said he had been there 30 minutes with no one even coming to his table. The waitress walked by with her cell phone and went in bathroom. We decided to leave, I heard the man that was waiting ask if he could get some coffee, she told him if he wanted to he could go down the street to the Waffle House in Smithfield. That is exactly what he did and so did we. Walked in to Waffle House in Smithfield across from Golden Corral, we were greeted, in just a couple of minutes the waitress was at the table taking our order. The Waffle House in Selma has certainly gone down hill. Will not be stopping...

I went to pick my neice up from the hospital..she had call a bunch of people in the family but no one would drive 12 miles to pick her up .She knew that I was in the process of moving and didn't want to tell me and her uncle that she had been in Smithfield all day with no return ride home and that the ambulance had bought her to the hospital.Well long story short ,she was on my mind about 1 a.m.and I texted her and she told me her situation and that she had not eaten all day because she was worried about how she was getting home.We went to pick her up and at that time of the morning the Waffle House was just about the only thing open and as we were in there talking and my Neice became emotional one of the patrons offered and paid for her food, but the kicker was the manager said that she was gonna give her a discount because she had already been through so much..Me & my husband was so taken aback that there are still decent human being in this world today .Thank You Waffle House for your kind employees and Thank You to the Patrons that were there on the night of July 24 2021. Walked in with my family, immediately greeted with a small, frail, tight lipped angry waitress that looked like she was ready to throw down instead of take our order. Sat at the dine in bar and this waitress asked what we wanted to drink, we told her and she begrudgingly set in on the table, zero eye contact. No spoon to stir coffee, had to get up to ask someone else busily finalizing their tasks to end shift, if I could get creamer. Cook served us wrong order, waitress that we had angrily took other orders, slammed dishes when cleaning up, crew was loud and cussing in restraunt. Waitress never checked on us, never gave us a check. I went to cash out and she stuck her hand out without saying a word still tight lipped and no eye contact. I told her she never gave us a check. With annoyance she tallied our order. I didnt leave a tip, I wont go back. Plus side, I know I won't strive for jail bc it felt like I was dining among...
