This was one of the most enjoyable and memorable culinary experiences my wife and I have EVER had. Full stop. We can wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend this location to anyone and everyone, young or old, big or small, who regularly consumes food! Guaranteed to blow your mind, induce salivation, satisfy your hunger, and pleasure your taste buds to one of the greatest treats they have will have had in their recent memories. 8 out of 8 eight items we ordered were the singularly best version of those items we have ever had at a restaurant.
We also could not leave a review without mentioning our absolutely stellar waitress. She was kind, efficient, supremely confident in the quality of their food, engaging, and incidentally, also a farmer from whom the restaurant sources some of it's produce! She was amazing.
Our only critique would be that the ambience/decor of the interior is not nearly magical enough to equal the glory of their food. So, please come here and tip them very well to give them enough money to redecorate and give them the external trappings worthy of their incredible culinary offerings!! :)
The conclusion of our evening was both of us, in tears of joy at the love and beauty infused within every bite. Their produce is locally sourced, their staff are generally long-term employees more akin to family, their zeal is palpable for what they are doing, and all of that shows through profoundly in the taste. Though we were unable to shake the chef's hand as he had already left for the night, we had a wonderful conversation with his wife and expressed out heartfelt gratitude to them for all their effort to create something...
Read moreAlways spectacular service here at Alderwood. Our waitress/bartender Emily was amazing! Went for dinner and everything was fabulous, even with no reservation and with how busy they were we got a seat within a few minutes. Beautiful local art covers the walls, very atmospheric. It looked like there was also very nice outdoor seating. For drinks we did the Lavender Lemonade and the Sequim Lemon Drop. Both are made with local lavender syrup and in-house pea flower syrup. Super yummy, the cocktail was just the right strength and beautifully presented. For food we started with the Fried Calamari, it was very crispy, and came with super yummy pickled peppers. A very unique and tasty flavor combination. Then for our meals we got the 3-piece Fish and Chips and the Steak Frite. The fish was super crispy and nice meaty pieces. The French fries were amazing so crispy on the outside, still tender and potato-y on the inside. The Steak Frite came with a choice of butter and I got the Umami-kimchi, it also came with roasted veggies and French Fries. The steak was super tender, melted in my mouth. The roasted veggies were a variety of interesting things. Some of which I'm sure I've never tried before, but all super tasty. The Sicilian Pizza was delicious. Super crispy fire roasted crust and sweet and delicious toppings. Overall a very fresh and elevated...
Read moreFantastic meal out. We came over from Seattle and wanted to give the place a try. We knew what we wanted before we arrived, but did enjoy perusing the menu over an excellent cocktail. I hade the house Manhattan, top notch I might add, y frendhad an excellent whiskey sour. We had their Sicilian pizza on a wood fired sourdough crust. I figured it was at individual small pizza but pleasantly surprised that it was a hearty 14 inch pizza. We split a pound of their wood fired mussels served with their focaccia, also sourdough. We had to order aside of their housemade kimchi because it didn't seem relative to the menu. Everything we had was delicious and well presented. Frankly we were surprised of the quality given their low prices. The staff, come on! Everyone was busy, it was hectic. They were awesome, everybody! Friendly from when we walked in. We had no reservation, something they encourage. We lucked out and got seated in the garden dining area within 20 minutes. I can honestly say this is the best meal out in a few years, we both said that. I have a new favorite restaurant for western WA. Oh, our bill was under $100, half what an equivalent experience than I would have...
