Fortune Star Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Sequim

We’ve been going there for years and years and lately the’ve been going downhill fast. Tonight sealed the deal for us. Not only have they been giving half the amount of food for $15 a plate, but the customer service is not what it used to be. Tonight, we ordered three to-go entrees. Apparently a bill got taken out of our debit account, and we unfortunately didn’t have enough to pay for it all. Keep in mind, we didn’t even TOUCH the bags. We didn’t eat ANY food. Because the owner loudly told us our remaining total 3 times, we had to explain three times in front of a long line of people that we didn’t have enough. I offered to pay for 2 entrees because it was all we had, but as soon as we tried to pay, another owner came up and literally yelled at us saying that they now have to pay for what we can’t. And that we “should check before we order” (which I did, unfortunately the bill came out afterward). At that point, I just told them to refund me and told the woman that she was being extremely rude. Even though I was willing to pay for what I could, she had to come out yelling that we didn’t have enough money. I’m front of a bunch of people. We were astonished by the disrespect. A very generous woman behind us offered to pay, but honestly they do not deserve any of our money after the complete disrespect we received; during the holidays at that. So we went to McDonald’s and got way better customer service for way cheaper. We will not be returning. They are clearly struggling and taking their frustrations out...

i was on vacation and this place was recommended by my cousin. So we went there for dinner on a Friday night and what i had was disappointment. I asked for 2 orders of shrimp dumpling and they served me 4 little dumplings in total. i thought it was expensive for 2 dumplings every order. Later i ordered my favorite dish "Singapore Chow Mein Foon" and that was the worst dish i've ever tasted so far. it's supposed to be spicy but i tasted nothing. I had to give up eating it. After that i ordered another dishes of shrimp dumpling because i thought it tasted ok. When i got home, I found out it was 4 dumplings for every order, not 2. Another problem was the service and the cashier's attitude. I wanted to pay with debit card and he said it didnt work, which worked perfectly when i was at the mall before going to the resto. i asked him if he could check it again and he just told me "no." Then i had to ask my cousin to pay for that night dinner. That included 1 order of shrimp dumpling i never have. This was the first time and will be the last...

I heard about this restaurant from a friend and was surprised because even as a relative local I'd never heard it mentioned before, even though it's been around for years. The food was delicious but honestly the way we were spoken to was seriously weird. I would definitely go back for the food and it was not a bad experience overall, but when we showed up at the front desk and said two for dinner she said we have no tables. Closing time was hours away so I said oh, how long would it be? 5 or 10 minutes. I truly felt like she was asking me to leave instead of waiting for 5 or 10 minutes for a table. Our server was no less strange in the way that she communicated with us. So, if you can accept that, truly delicious food.
