My family and I, along with visiting friends, have been regulars of Oasis since we started looking for a home to buy in Sequim. We looked forward to chatting with Dale, playing Sunday trivia, trying new things on the menu. It was our place, and we brought everyone there. No more.
Oasis is a food establishment. The health and well-being of its customers has to come first, but it turns out that customer health is way down the owners' list of priorities. By joining a lawsuit against our county public health officials -- for a well-thought-out proof-of-vaccine requirement intended to end COVID-19 so all our businesses can reopen and we can get back to our lives and businesses -- the Oasis folks have lost our business as well as my trust and respect. For customers to care about a restaurant, that business must first care about its customers. To purchase and eat what you cook, we have to trust you.
We patronized Oasis all through the pandemic for nearly two years by ordering and picking up food to eat at home. Then the owners not only demonstrated their lack of understanding and respect for basic health science, they decided to actively move against the very health officials who do guard the health and well-being of my family, friends, and community, as well as the visitors who contribute so much to our local economy. Now I have to wonder what goes on in their kitchen, what other corners are being cut.
So good-bye, Oasis. You've broken my heart, and I'll especially miss the Rachel and the beer selection, but I can get that stuff in businesses that respect the health and well-being of...
Read moreWe couldn't decide between two fish and chip restaurants in this lovely town so we ordered one order of each and the oasis bar and grill one hour contest pretty much hands down. Japanese panko breaded, not greasy at all, and we're talking cod here so it's very flaky but their fish was very firm and tasty. Yes that's right I said the fish was tasty, and cook to take out perfection.
When I called to put the order in they had blown through all their fries so they put lightly substituted sweet potato fries and let me know. Let me say that they handled the order taking to perfection got all the information correct. When I got there they were busy And looked understaffed but there was a note on the door asking for patience. So I was patient order took a minute but in the end it was awesome. It cost about 15 bucks for a two piece fish and ship dinner with coleslaw also really good.
Covid side note.... If you're going to go out and spend the money to eat in a restaurant or more importantly get take out tipping and gratuities cash slipped to your order taker or server is the way these people are getting by so be generous. I tip five on 14 and told her to keep the 20. Her face lit up like it was Christmas. She was working in a restaurant giving me my fish and chip order and they were at least 90 people in there having a great time and there were four servers on the floor handling everything. I tip my hat and two thumbs up to the Oasis bar and grill on sheer...
Read moreLooked at the reviews and decided to give them a try figuring all the poor ones were approximately from the same time period and plenty good ones since. Also noted the review that stated they can be busy on Monday, Wednesday and Friday so figured we would be prepared for a wait. Our server was Keegan (who did a wonderful job and was obviously hopping all over the place). We chose a Ruben with a side of their chili and a prime rib dip with tater tots. I ordered a Bloody Mary and my boyfriend ordered hard cider. It took some time for us to get our food (30-40 minutes) but he took our drinks off the bill due to the wait. Food was very good, Reuben was very briny and cheesy just like I like it, but the chili was the star here. No beans in it, and personally I'd like them, but it's got this Chipotle, BBQ, spicy-like heat that doesn't linger too long. Excellent cup of chili! The prime rib dip wasnt anything special but was just what the bf wanted so he was very happy. His tater tots on the other hand were perfect. You wouldn't think that would be so important but they can easily be screwed up, just like fries. The ranch dip was tasty too, very "herbie". We ordered the Guinness Cake to go and you can't go wrong there, really yummy!! Prices were not anything beyond the expected either. All in all, very pleasant and tasty! On vacation so not coming back soon, but if we ever do, we'll pop in for that chili! Thank...
