Overall, Google review rating is 4.5, but look at lowest star reviews. There's been a lot of 1 star reviews from recent months. Here is another one-star review from my visit in June 2025. Two diners came in for lunch. The service was good, but prices for the terrible food are outrageous. I don't know why all the reviews on here say $30-50 per person. It's more. We ordered 2 waters, 1 coffee, 2 martinis, 1 appetizer, and 2 entrees. Our total was $121.23 plus $20 tip, so $141.23 and no desserts. The water glass was visibly dirty. The martini was about 1/2 inch from being full, and the volume in martini glasses comes from the top, so I'm guessing I only received a half serving. The appetizer we had crab cake and shrimp. The shrimp was overcooked and so chewy I could barely cut it with a knife and definitely couldn't chew it or swallow it. The shrimp came on top of a bed of dry fettuccine noodles, I've never seen this anywhere. Who would want that? Inedible. The salmon was soaked in lemon juice and salt, then char gilled that the skin couldn't even be cut with a knife. When I put the salmon in my mouth, I had to spit it out because it was so over seasoned. Could not taste salmon at all. The salmon dish came with a whole head of brocolli, no stems cut off. Why are you making me work so hard to eat my food? I had Mahi Mahi tacos (for the Mahi Mahi plate price because the tacos come with shrimp, and after the app shrimp, I wasn't trying shrimp again). The tacos were good but watery (water dripped out of the bottom). The slaw on the tacos was visibly old and turning grey, not fresh cut cabbage slaw that's colorful. That dish also came with a pineapple relish, which was also full of fluid. It seems it was pre-made and had been sitting for days in a fridge, like the slaw. My husband is from the area and has been several times about 10 years back. He remembers it being really good, so we went. I'm extremely disappointed. They advertise as a nice fine dining place with white tablecloths and then serve terrible inedible food. The chef is lazy, prep your food so it's fresh and ready to be eaten (examples of broccoli stem, old slaw, old relish, etc.). The bartender is lazy, clean your glasses properly, and actually measure alcohol so the glass is served with the correct amount. I do not recommend wasting your hard...
Read moreThe Chophouse was located close to my hotel so, after a long work day, I decided to treat myself to a steak. Arriving at 9:05 p.m., and being cognizant that there was less than an hour before closing, I planned on ordering quickly and being on my way. It was over 5 minutes before my server appeared, and she stopped at the nearby table to chat with some regulars. She spent the next five minutes excitedly regaling them with how tonight was her last shift. Apparently, she and her manager have been at odds, and the manager was engaged in a campaign to write her up and get the server fired. Finally, the three guests at the table were presented with their bill, and she came over to greet me. Her opening query was "Are you doing ok?" (as if she was checking on me rather than meeting me for the first time), when I replied with,"Nobody has been here yet, " she replied, "Well, I'm here now..."
I ordered the 10oz ribeye (medium rare), salad and Grand Margarita. The salad arrived first and was quite good, followed by an excellent margarita. The steak arrived, brought by a different server and the kitchen missed medium rare by a fair bit but I began eating anyway. A little more than 5 minutes later, my server came by to check on how things were and I mentioned the steak was over-cooked. She agreed and offered to have it remade but with less than 20 minutes until close, I politely declined and finished my meal. As the restaurant was about to close, I asked for the check. After nearly 10 minutes, I flagged down the hostess and asked for the check. The hostess went off in search of my server who then returned with the check and I paid and left.
While the meal was better than average but it didn't deliver the 5-star experience other guest reviews mentioned. Most notably, the service definitely fell short, especially trash talking management in the middle of the dining room - even though there were only two tables seated in this section. This experience does not make me inclined to return the next time I'm in town, which is a shame as we usually stay nearby and do enjoy a...
Read moreMy main issue was with our server, Augustus. He is the only reason I am giving 3 stars rather than 5. Let me start with the good things. The food was all good, well prepared, and the steaks were cooked exactly to order, and even dessert was good. However, from the moment we sat down, the server seemed in a hurry. He wasn't rude, just rushed. We barely had a menu in hand and barely made a drink order when he was asking about appetizers. I told him we needed a moment. From there, the breakneck pace continued. He didn't clear dishes between courses, resulting in a cluttered table. There was no pacing between the courses and when food runners would come to deliver food, we had barely had time to begin the previously delivered item. I had at least 3 drink glasses on the table at all times. When the entrees arrived, there was nowhere to put them. We still had appetizers and salads on the table. We had to hurry and stack and arrange to make room so we could even eat. He asked 3 times about my dessert order while I was still eating my filet, and delivered the check prior to dessert being delivered. He also never communicated specials, and when he did so at another table, we heard items we would have much rather ordered than the items we did select. It was also insulting to see him deliver proper service to an adjacent table. We paid the bill, left 15%, which is his loss because I routinely tip 25% or more. For a meal that cost around $100 for 2 people, I expect a level of service and pacing that doesn't make me think I'm at a Cracker Barrel. The bright side is that on the way out, I was able to speak with a female manager. She could not have been more kind or understanding. Despite the fact I really didn't want anything, she insisted on giving us a gift card. Given that, we will try the restaurant again at another time. We also had very friendly service from 2 servers who ran our food, which shows there are great staff members there, just not the server we had. Pictures attached of the table as the entree...
