I just had the worst experience at a Kay Jewelers ever. Let me start from the beginning. I ordered a pair of earrings online for my wife and chose to do store pickup due to the fact that they would not make it to my house in time for her birthday. When I get to the store today My service animal and I go into the store and immediately get bombarded by one of the male employees about needing to wear a mask.(his wasn't even covering his nose at that point) I tried to explain to him that I'm not able to wear a mask due to having COPD (which was caused by exposure while serving our country in four years of combat overseas) so I have limited lung capacity and makes make it even harder for me to breath. By the way I'm also vaccinated. But he hurries us out the door to stand in the sun still has not even asked me why I'm there. So I tell him I'm there to pick up an order that was placed. He asked me for my name I gave it to him. He goes back inside leaving me directly outside the doors comes back and tells me he can't find it, so I describe what the item is give him my full name again, as he's gone I have to take my service animal and put her in the truck and turn on my truck because it is too hot outside for her to just stand there in the sun. Then I have to go back and stand in front of the doors. He does find my item and gives it to me. I sign the paperwork and leave.
What he didn't know is I was ready to purchase the step up from the pair I bought so she could have both to choose from everyday, plus a necklace, plus a tennis bracelet. So around $4000. But I guess that's what you lose out on when you rush someone out that looks like me. Cover in tattoos, tank top and flip-flops. Never judge a book by its cover.
Reed Jewelers here I come. I know, I can buy from you guys and not be treated like this or judged on looks.
One last note. I used to work for Kay Jewelers, and I know that treating a customer in the way doesn't Celebrate Life or...
Read moreI was looking to have a watch band adjusted and walked into Kay Jewelers in Shallotte. I was met by Erika and Zanobia. Although I wasnât there for a âbigâ jewelry purchase, Erika and Zanobia still gave me the VIP treatment! I was pretty leery about jewelers in the area after my bad experience with Perryâs Emporium down the street (story for another day). I move from California and had my own family jeweler. I would come back to Kay Jewelers just because of Erika and Zanobia! For removing 4 links from my watch band, they didnât request payment but a donation to St. Judeâs who they partner with and so happens to be one of my fav charities! Triple win for all of usâKayâs, St....
Read moreI went to Kay's today in Shallotte, NC and had the best experience. I went to have my wedding rings inspected and cleaned. I also had another diamond ring that belonged to my mother cleaned. Upon inspection, it was determined that the diamond was loose. I didn't even have to ask to have this ring inspected as it was not purchased at Kay's but thank goodness they inspected it, even showed me where it was loose. They are now repairing my mother's ring that means so much to me. I am so appreciative of their wonderful...
