The Home Depot — Local services in Shallotte

Absolutely the worst Home Depot I’ve experienced when it comes to their flooring department. We fully paid for vinyl plank and carpet with installation over two weeks ago and have been given the run around ever since. Lies that it was on the truck, then not on the truck, to install people who lie about when they would come to install. We ended up going to store personally and getting the vinyl plank supplies on the floor and carried it back to our home (we are 68!) and carrying it into our home so the installer could install. Something he said he would do if we got it there. Now he won’t return calls and when I call Home Depot, they won’t commit to an installation date, only that maybe 2 more weeks! We are 3-1/2 hours away and came into town for this installation only to get the run around. We are Home Depot clients from way back and spend a lot of money with them. Stay away from this store in Shallotte if at all possible. We hope to get a refund and hire some professional...

The instore experience was very good and most helpful. I bought a dishwasher and made arrangements for delivery and "Installation ". Warning: Always ask them what installation entails for the price they charge. Remember, they are sending out delivery men not Handymen or plumbers etc. I wasn't sure how they would handle the installation of a dishwasher as it wasn't something you just plug in. I could've done that. They delivered around lunch time. Looked at the previous plumbing setup and told me Id have to get a plumber or someone else. And they didn't take my old dishwasher sitting in the hallway which I had disconnected and removed. Now I did get a refund for Installation charges and removal of old unit. The Customer service lady was knowledgeable and quick. But their installation claims are misleading and time wasting as I had to Later try to get somebody to do the proper installation. Home Depot in Shallotte. I’ve recently moved to the area and have never experienced a Home Depot like the one in Shallotte. I’m made to feel like I’m in a local hardware store - I know the names of employees (Stephanie, Connor) who go out of their way to make you feel like a special customer. Stephanie in particular (sold me washer, dryer and refrigerator) goes above and beyond to engage, guide and advise. And does so in a way that’s very conversational and unrushed.

I’ve been to many Home Depot stores in Massachusetts (my old home state) and I don’t remember much about them except that they are big and unfriendly places.
