So I normally don’t write reviews like this, but I feel it’s necessary. My friend and I came in around 1230 on Monday. I will start off with highlighting the good. We got crab Rangoons and pad Thai the food was delicious very tasty came out in a timely manner. The inside looked a lot better than the previous restaurant. Those are my goods. Now my issues involved sanitary conditions of the restaurant and the unpleasant response from the staff when addressing this concern. While we were eating I noticed a roach on the wall. I immediately stopped and called the server over to show her. She killed it and apologized. I made it clear we don’t feel comfortable finishing our food given these circumstances regarding roaches in the restaurant: it’s unsanitary. I asked if there was anything she can do about the bill because we would not be finishing, after having only eaten a few bites. She responded saying the owner is in Thailand so there was nothing she can do about it. I said I’m sorry but reiterated that I don’t feel comfortable eating at a restaurant with roaches, to which she replied “to each their own”. This is extremely rude. Then she said she can pay out of her own pocket for our meals and which I told her that’s not your job that’s your bosses job to handle these problems. There should always be a manager on duty. Despite the fact the food was delicious and came out quick I will not be returning to this restaurant because of the issue with the roach and the unpleasant experience with the staff. Update: they did reimburse us for the food the following day so I appreciate...
Read moreHeart broken. I was visiting this place once a week for lunch since they opened but things will have to change. First the food; the food is good but not anywhere near authentic, however not many places are and definitely not in Shelton. It was enjoyable so I always returned. The portions are on the skinny side and I never had any leftovers except for when I ordered the phad Thai. My favorite dish was the pepper garlic with extra veggies and it used to cost $17.?? with tax. Now unfortunately, the same dish is $23.?? with tax without any leftovers, and that's for a lunch. Sorry, can't do that anymore. For the atmosphere, it's nice as long as your not sitting at the window facing the bikini barista that's 20 feet away, or maybe that's a great thing??. All in all, I'm bummed that I now have one less place in Shelton to enjoy...
Read moreVery disappointed. I was hoping to like this place but it was not good. The place is tiny, there were about 9 tables inside but it did look nice and inviting. I placed a to-go order from my phone and that was fairly easy. It defaults to a 20 percent tip, which I think is odd but at least you can change it. I ordered the fried Tofu, which was very good, but the sauce that came with it was yucky. It tasted old, like it had a chemical hint to it or had been sitting around and spoiled. I don’t know…I just didn’t like it. I also ordered the Phad See Ew and my husband said it was bad. It tasted very fishy, and was inedible. I tried it myself and I thought it was terrible. I know a lot of people like this place and I feel bad that I didn’t but it was just not good. It was a little pricey too, so that made me...
