El Nopal Mexican Restaurante — Restaurant in Shepherdsville

WE EXPECTED A LOT BETTER FROM THIS PLACE!! 😖 There were 4 of us who went there to eat. Based on my past experience with El Nopal we had high expectations but ended up getting cold water dashed upon our hopes. 3 of us live about 70 miles from there; we had gone to Mt. Washington to see a relative, then drove to Shepherdsville to eat. They obviously had new help. The waitress was just not with it being very scatterbrained, ditsy & loopy. This waitress was out of touch with reality. First, after receiving our chips & salsa, we couldn't get ahold of her to get anymore salsa since we had eaten what she had brought. 2) It took her way too long to order our food. I noted, as this wasn't normal dinner hours, they weren't very busy at all. 3) I ordered Tacos De Asada. The food wasn't correctly seasoned, the beef was pretty well bland tasting; the Pico De Gallo was notably absent. I COULD NOT GET THE WAITRESS' ATTENTION TO COME OVER TO OUR TABLE TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE!!! 😠😡 4) Embarrassingly I had to call out to her to FINALLY receive our check. Seriously, I understand the part about being new on the job, all of us have been there at one time or another. I deducted one star for POOR service on the part of the waitress. I deducted ANOTHER star for the substandard quality of the seasoning OUR food; it wasn't just my food that was affected. This is NOT AT ALL what I've come to expect from El Nopal based on prior experience. Folks, it took an ACT OF CONGRESS to get this waitress to do her job. Plus they were obviously having issues in the kitchen as well. Hopefully, they'll address these issues & bring themselves back up to the level of service I KNOW they're capable...

We walked in El Nopal last night and the same lady that always seats you took us to a table that still had the previous customers dirty dishes on it she pulled the plates off and put it on another table and then set our menus down and our silverware. When i asked her if she could clean it off she ripped our menus up off the table and made a loud sigh then said something we couldn't understand and stormed off. Another server walked up to us and took us to another table. As we sat there everytime she walked by she would just stare at us. I also noticed she is the same person who does the to go orders. Our food did not come out as we ordered and like others say your steak is always burnt and dry. We really liked coming to this location but with Covid and them not caring about sanitation we...

Stopped here while on my trip!! Best decision!! Came in and the first thing you smell is how clean it is!! Everything there was clean !! Then the amazing food smell!! The people there were so nice and friendly!! The chips and salsa was so good!! Only thing that kinda sucked was that they don’t have aguas frescas they only have machine drinks, which is fine I had a sweet tea that was really good !! The Food Omg I have to say make sure you come here HUNGRY!! Cause man do they give you a plate full !! I got a chicken, rice, mushrooms with cheese plate it was delicious but I couldn’t finish it !! Also Got a plate that had carne asada, a block of cheese, green chili, jalapeño, chorizo, onions, shrimp, and limes!! The flavor was all there very very good !! Definitely will be coming...
