El Tarasco Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Shepherdsville

Ate there tonight with my wife and our two teenage kids. Our waitress was to busy talking to what seems like two of her friends at another table. We were completely neglected. All she did was take the order (someone else brought out our food). My dish was wrong but as I was ignored I decided to eat what I got instead of what I ordered. After a long wait the waitress finally brought the check. While paying the check I was asked how everything was,... I told the girl checking us out how we were neglected and she had a look of no surprise and did nothing to alleviate the problem or simply apologize for the poor service. Within a half hour after leaving the restaurant my wife and I both had stomach sickness. I would NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. Please save yourself the stomach ache and feelings of neglect and go...

Original Zomato Review 2/16/14 - FAIR MEXICAN FARE. We caught lunch after visiting Zappo's Outlet. The food was good and some notables were: (1) Good chips [not too salty], (2) Queso and Chorizo dip was tasty, and (3) Sweet tea was awesome [brewed and in a big glass]. We had steak fajitas--the lunch version was smaller and didn't come on a sizzling skillet, but everything was extremely temperature hot, so okay.

Service was a bit slow, but the food made up for it. The only thing I wish was better was the salsa--they serve two kinds, a mild and a hot. The mild was tomato sauce [for wussies] and the hot was different, not that hot, wish they would have some onions, garlic, and cilantro showing in the hot. It would have been smashing...

This was my first time eating here and I love Mexican food. I normally go to the one across the street 2 to 3 times a week. For some reason there phone number on google wasn’t working so I placed my order at this one. I’m not going to name drop cause that would be disrespectful to this place. But I got my food to go and the steak was dry and there was only 6 pieces in my lunch steak fajita. The chips were stale. It 12pm! It’s lunch time so how is the food and chips not fresh? The people working there were nice and friendly but it’s not worth eating old food for. I won’t be returning and I don’t call and complain at places. I will not be returning to this place.
