I stopped by Golden Chick in Shreveport, and overall, the experience was pretty decent. The food was OK, but let me tell you — the mashed potatoes and gravy were the real stars of the meal. I mean, there’s mashed potatoes… and then there’s mashed potatoes. These were so good you could eat them by themselves. Creamy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with that white gravy — it just hit the spot.

Now, the shrimp? I won’t be getting that again. It tasted like something I could buy frozen at the grocery store. Just not worth it. The wings, on the other hand, were spicy and full of flavor. I liked them, but next time I’ll skip that extra red seasoning they put on top. It was just too much for me — if you don’t like heavy spice, ask them to leave it off.

The dirty rice was a no for me. It was too wet, and the seasoning made it taste more like stuffing or dressing than rice. Not a fan. The roll was that classic sweet dinner roll you get at most chicken spots. Basic but still good.

Service-wise, I didn’t get a spoon and had to ask for a straw before I left. Nothing major, but just a heads up.

Even with a few misses, I’m giving Golden Chick 4 stars because I’ll definitely be back. I want to try more items — and I’m coming back for those mashed potatoes, that roll, and those spicy wings (minus...

UPDATE: After my previous review, I received a call from the manager of this location offering to make things right. I informed him that we may give it another try. After some consideration, we went again today and they did just that! They remade our order with no issues. Everything was made exactly how it should be (a little more grease than I'm use too) but for the most part, everything was great! From the service to my order. Thank you!

So we just got a chance to go here for the 1st time. We order a 15pc mix with 2 sides.. The chicken that wasn't undercooked was good. The fact that we only received 13pcs out of 15pc's has me a little upset. We had asked for no wings, and they got that part right but were super disappointed when we didn't have any legs either!! 10 more dollars for half a container of potatoes and green beans is a little much, don't you think? And nearly 60.00 for what we received is ridiculous!! Barely enough sides for one person. Didn't really wanna come home and cook.... it is what it is, i guess. Won't be returning.. It's a shame, too, because we were excited about some new places being...

I ordered online, which was a mistake and I will never do again. For the most part they got my order correct, but it was the small intricate parts of my order that they didn't get it right. I ordered a 9-piece wing lemon pepper and they gave me a 9-piece wicked wings which are pretty spicy. I included on special requests my order and I also ask the person who was giving me my order at the window to remind them that I wanted extra lemon pepper on the wings. Of course she asked me to pull up because my order wasn't ready yet even though it said it was supposed to be ready 5 minutes before I arrive in the drive thru. I pulled up and sat there for 15 minutes and no one came out with my food. I really wasn't dressed to go inside that's why I ordered online and went through the drive-thru to pick it up. So I had to go inside to pick up my order which still wasn't ready or not even made and I had to wait an extra 10 minutes and they still got my order wrong.
