Went to have Valentine’s Day dinner with my husband. When we were seated the air conditioning was on full blast and was pointing right at our table. I froze the whole dinner. We ordered sushi rolls first then after the rolls came we ordered dinner. My husband ordered the Chicken Katsu and I ordered a bento dinner. His Katsu came out almost 15 minutes before my bento did. So we didn’t get to eat at the same time. But it didn’t matter…. Because he did not like the Katsu. He had me try it to see what I thought and I said that it tasted like it was burnt or cooked in an unclean pan that had burned on food. He thought the same thing. I told the waitress that we were not going to eat it and the reason why when she brought me my dinner. My bento dinner was also chicken that was ok but not great. Then shortly after she brought the bill to us. When I looked at the bill I saw the Katsu was still on the bill. We had only tried 1 piece of the Katsu and 2 little bites of the rice. So I asked the waitress if they were going to take off the 18.00 for the Katsu. She said no that their policy was to make us another plate of Katsu. I said ummm well ok.. we had already told her that we did not want another Katsu because it tasted funny. And that because it tasted as if it was cooked in a dirty burnt pan and were not going to wait another 20 minutes for that to come out. I believe that if a customer does not eat the food and sent it back to the kitchen then the charge for the food should be removed from their bill. Especially if they only had a piece and ate nothing else on the plate. It should be on the restaurant at that point. Not a paying customer who was paying over $100 for a dinner that they expected to be good. We will not be going back. Needless to say that very early this morning he woke us with stomach cramps and running to use the bathroom then I woke up around 6am having the same issue… the only thing we had was dinner at...
Read moreTrying to find a good consistent Japanese restaurant since moving to Louisiana - i love Japanese food. I do not want to harp on things that bothered me - because I have enjoyed each visit. But salad was overly dressed with dressing, the miso soup was alright (piping hot) I think because everything was diced up so small or cut into slivers it just lacked the Unami that others I have had. The tempura, felt the batter was to thick and not representative of proper tempura. Maybe since it’s Louisiana they feel a thick crunchy crust on the vegetables is what we like - me personally - no. The rolls are ok - had a couple the first time - for some reason they were very thin - almost a thickness of a marker. They were good, just very thin to what I am used to. The wasabi was so mild and almost tasteless my partner actually tried it for the second time ever. Still hates wasabi - but prefers to eat the ginger. The last trip I decided to try a meal and went with the katsu. Again the crust was so heavy the pork was dried out. The fried rice was good but the winner for me was the bed of vegetables hid underneath the pork katsu. These are just some of the things that stood out and remembered talking about after leaving. Would I eat there again, yes. I wish it was closer to me because it is better than one I have 30...
Read moreWe went here to celebrate my sister birthday and to make her day special. We decided to start ordering and told the waitress many times that my sister has an allergy to shellfish. We asked the waitress many times if they would make sure that none be made with her food.
As our food start to come out my sister became ill and needed to be assisted to the restroom which all of her food came back up. She went in there 3 times and promptly had to leave. I called the waitress over and asked her was she sure that no seafood was by our cooked with my sister food. She told us that they were fixed together and fried in the same grease.
She told us that her boss was not on site but that she could call her. Neither one of them showed concern about my sister because she was not laid out on a floor. To even know that they thought it was funny really wasn’t right. What should have been a good day for my sister resulted with her having to go to the hospital. They could never get my service again.
To not inform us prior nor have something up letting customers be aware of this is bad...
