I'd like to start on a positive note by saying that the restaurant was clean, smelled great and the food was still coming out fresh at 8:15pm, and they close at 9pm. That's commendable because my home location would never. However, within the first 5 minutes of sitting down and eating about 5 bites of my salad, I noticed an employee standing on the grill with rubber boots on taking the hood vents down from the ceiling. I specifically went there for steak and salad. However, witnessing this and imagining how much filth was falling right into the 3 pans of food below him, I grew a but queasy. I informed the waitress, and she told the manager, who I later learned was James. As I waited at my table for the manager to speak to me, I noticed another employee (about 4 feet from the location the vent was taken from) spraying the grill with chemical spray. In complete disbelief, I recorded what I'd seen with the sole intention of showing the manager what I'd witnessed so that I could request a refund and leave. However, when the manager approached me, he immediately told me that I couldn't record in the restaurant, and I informed him that I have every right to do so. He rebutted by repeating himself, and I did the same. At this point, I no longer felt comfortable with complaining and simply wanted to leave. As I was packing my belongings, James continued to speak, and my actions made it clear that I was avoiding confrontation by asking for his name, saying "thank you, and have a good night." As I walked out, I was shaken up because, as a former restaurant manager, I couldn't imagine making one of my customers feel as though their complaint isn't worthy of being heard by telling them that they're doing something against the law, especially when, in the state of Louisiana, it's not illegal. I thanked the cashier for being so kind and accommodating as I briefly explained to her what happened. In the process, James approached and began to speak. I then told the cashier to have a good night. My significant other saw the panic on my face, and I showed him the video of what happened. After he spoke with James for nearly 10 minutes, they both walked out smiling. At this point, I knew he'd gained and given an understanding. James walked to my door and apologized so sincerely and helped me to understand his perspective. I know without a doubt that he was remorseful for how he handled the situation. As he was speaking, he touched such a soft place in my heart, and I gave him "motherly" advice, and we all laughed it off. Mind you, he's just a year older than me. LOL His sincerity lifted the heavy weight that was placed before us. Though the initial interaction wasn't the greatest, he visited the place where he created discomfort and replaced it with so much respect and transparency. That was brave. Oddly enough, I'd visit again. However, I was visiting from out of town. So, the chances are slim. Takeaway: Never close yourself off from learning and hearing someone. We're all struggling in some way. So, giving...
Read moreGolden Corral in Shreveport straight-up blew my mind. I came in expecting the usual buffet roulette—where you don’t know if you’re about to get a decent meal or a side of gastrointestinal regret. Instead, I got fried chicken so damn good it should be illegal. And not just any piece—oh no. I went for the breast. And let me tell you, this chicken breast was so plump, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, I had to stop and make sure I wasn’t on a first date. I’m not saying I moaned out loud after the first bite… but the couple at the next table definitely gave me a look.
The batter? Crispy, seasoned like grandma got a little freaky in the spice cabinet. The meat? So juicy it practically dripped down my wrist like I was in some low-budget food commercial that should’ve been rated R. I’ve eaten a lot of chicken in my life, but this breast right here? Easily top 3 experiences of 2025—and yes, that includes sexy time.
And then—Renee. Sweet Renee at the register. This woman deserves a crown. She treated us like we were her own blood. She didn’t just ring us up—she blessed us. Kind, warm, welcoming… if fried chicken is the reason to go to this Golden Corral, Renee is the reason you’ll come back. Honestly, if she ran for mayor of Shreveport, I’d move just to vote.
Now, let’s talk comparison. I’m from Arlington, Texas, and our Golden Corral back home is straight-up embarrassing. Arlington’s buffet is like Tinder after 2 AM—desperate, sloppy, and full of regret. Shreveport’s buffet? That’s like meeting someone out of your league who actually says yes. Arlington gives you chicken that tastes like it filed for bankruptcy. Shreveport hands you a breast so good it deserves its own Netflix special.
I did try to take a picture of this glorious chicken breast to show how juicy it was, but let’s be real: the food was so good I couldn’t even focus. The photo came out looking like I took it while being mugged. My brain said, “Wait for the perfect shot,” but my stomach said, “Shut up and put this breast in your mouth.” Guess which one won?
Final verdict: this Golden Corral in Shreveport isn’t just a buffet—it’s an experience. The kind that leaves you full, happy, and maybe questioning your life choices in a good way. If you don’t go, you’re depriving yourself of one of life’s juiciest pleasures.
10/10. Would...
Read moreIt's been remodeled since the last time I went. I visited with a parent because I wanted to see if the food was as horrible as what was sent to me in an UberEats order recently. It WAS. Fried Fish was a mix of old and new. Fried Shrimp were clearly old and should've been pulled from the bar till the new batch was done. My parent got the baked fish which had them puking right after we left.
There's a high chance anytime from 7 and beyond you may end up with food poisoning, so be forewarned. Whoever is responsible for food rotating in and out the bar simply doesn't care. How do you let mashed potatoes sit so long on a bar they sour??? Does this person know nothing at all about food service and food borne illness???? Food quality has shot to hell.
For the good reviews, these people must be attending during lunch rush because the quality they speak of isn't present or to be found.
As someone else stated there's a young woman there cussing like a sailor with no regard to guests or children present. She along with her giggling friend who seemed to lack the mental faculties to do anything but run around and giggle made for an abysmal atmosphere.
I gave 5 stars for my server and the young man and woman that greeted us when we came in at the counter. The women's bathroom in particular smelled horrendous and sour like it hadn't been cleaned all day.
To the manager, if you don't get those two rude employees under control they will run your business below the ground. The atrocities I witnessed in this establishment shouldn't be. Especially when there are workers there who are kind, doing their job to the best of their ability, and working their butt off. Why make a team suffer because of two poor contributors who you're paying to be rude as hell to everyone who walks through the door?
Now I see why the parking lot stays empty during times when it used to be packed...
