Four years ago I first moved here to Shreveport from West Monroe. The very first place my buddy Lee took me here was to pho kims. 2 years after living in Shreveport, i had moved back Monroe. Monroe has a Rwaz cafe and they are in my opinion a lil more mainline, but ultimately I'm just 100% papaya salad, large pho, and spring rolls every trip. low and behold I actually got to go Pho L'Amour right after the change over, which was my going away present for having to move back to monore. I dunno anything about the change or why it went from pho kims to pho L'Amour, but the integrity of papaya salad, pho, and spring rolls was not only not compromise but improved IMO. Even the employees are crazy kind.. Have you ever tried to take the pho u ordered Togo?! These employees will ask if they can do it for you (like insisting to do it) and If u have never done it, just let them do it xD you will see..I'm actually definitely coming over there in a bit. I gotta keep taking pictures of the pho faces I make with srirachi eyes and mouth and cilantro...
Read moreNew to Shreveport. No matter where I move to whether it be Vegas, Texas, Chicago, Florida or Germany a good bowl of pho is always first thing I scout out. I’ve had some amazing & some not so great pho. This kind of sits toward the middle. I love how much tendon I had in the soup. That’s a huge plus for me. Tripe was lacking. The soup wasn’t hot when it came out so my rare steak—which I always order on the side because I don’t want it hard as a rock—didn’t cook to my liking in the broth. But the biggest negative for me was the flavor of broth, very salty, I almost wonder if this is true beef bone broth or if it was brought to a fast boil and not slow simmered. It was not clear but very cloudy and almost had a sediment. It lacked the dark rich color or sweet pungent background flavor which draws me to a good bowl of pho. The service was good and friendly. I did not see one Vietnamese person in the restaurant. Not a good sign. I’ll be looking for a different pho bowl. Sorry guys. Just...
Read moreFantastic food! I'm chef and have worked in the industry for over twenty years. The food is amazing. Having said that the service seems understaffed and mismanaged. An employee was smoking with friends right outside the front entrance and the FOH staff seemed Spacey and non-communicative. I've been there twice and they had two servers work the dining and both times they were overwhelmed which led to short communication and sloppy service. Great food but need real management up front. (A few months later)_ food is still amazing. FOH employees are still Spacey, underdressed, and non communicative. There are two employees at the register we've had good experiences with. They were nice and loquacious enough for FOH atmosphere. The wait staff though needs a little work. A little enthusiasm and obsequiousness from the wait staff would go a long way. At the risk of sounding old- Shave, don't wear a hat, and...
