We came here because the buffet was closed on Monday. We all ordered the catfish. My 2 friends got it fried and I got it blackened. There was a lot of it and it was fresh and tasty. He only oroblem was that it took a long time to deliver it. I think we waited 35 minutes, but then again it was a lot of fish to fry I get to Seaside and I got mashed potatoes and gravy with ear of corn. The corn was a little mushy but I was happy with it. My friends got the sweet potato and if they were not very good they were full of bitter cinnamon. They didn't cook the cinnamon down enough. You female server was very nice and polite and so was the cashier and the manager. We had a good experience and I would recommend this although it was a little pricey because the catfish was $16 each.

Good food - far better than the pictures do justice. Service on the other hand was absolutely abysmal. Our waitress never came back after beverages (we had to ask another one for refill), and had to ask someone separate about our meals (which was brought out by someone else!). When it came time for the check, no one was there so we went to the checkout counter to pay and the handler walked away! Went to speak to someone else who called the checkout handler back so we could pay/leave. Would never revisit this place again. Spend a little more and go to William B's Steakhouse right down the hall - at least they care about their patrons and their food is outstanding.

What is the deal with a 10% to go service charge, I Was told this goes directly to Samstown for what im not sure... but just so you guys know.We will no longer be tipping on to go orders which sucks for the guys that work there.. Sams town is taking money out of their pocket... I will not pay a service charge For you guys to make more money Which you make enough in the casino and on you're ATM machines.... This is seriously ridiculous... Let these workers make their money.

I've actually been to Smokey Joe's many times, so my opinion covers a number of experiences. Yes, service is spotty, inconsistent. Even with breakfast, when I was one of only a few customers in the restaurant, it has taken an inordinate amount of time just to try to get a coffee refill. Yes, my server came around to my table three times to ask if I needed more coffee, then disappeared only to return later and ask if I needed more coffee, without bringing me more coffee. This cycle occurred three times before I actually GOT more coffee. Asking if I needed more coffee was apparently more concerning to my server than actually GIVING me more coffee. Food is hit-and-miss. The one that is repeatedly sub par is the hamburgers. Dry, chewy, with all the flavor of a shoe box. I imagine the meat is prepared at the buffet next door, kept in a warming bin, then thrown on the grill to reheat when ordered. Cooking to order is pointless. To be fair, I have encountered some very attentive servers, some with very entertaining personalities. But sadly, these events pale in comparison to the generally questionable service received over time. I haven't noticed any real significant improvement or changes over the years, so I'm assuming that management is not all that interested in actually acting on feedback such as this. One other clue about that is noticing that the owner comments are repetitive, cut-and-paste responses with none of them offering any form of actual compensation for poor food or service. I'd at least be content if they would start by making a...

Of all the places to eat at Sam's Town this is the worst. Arrived there at 1:15 pm was seated and ordered drinks. Drinks came out right away. Waited for another thirty minutes and no one bothered to take our food order. It was slow abd the waiting staff were just standing abd talking with each other. I asked one of the waitress to assist us and she looked at me as if I was not talking to her and kept walking. The manager came over and I explained to her our dissatisfaction of service and it had now been over an hour. The manager apologized and took our order. But it gets worse now. We finally get our food after waiting another thirty minutes or longer and the food comes out cold. The manager comes over and once again I let her know this is totally unacceptable. She advised she has been trying to call her boss and is not getting an answer. Meanwhile the staff is still doing the same as before but now have become loud and obnoxious. The Sous chef comes out to ask what is the problem and what can she do to make it right. There were four of us and one was pregnant and really needed to eat. The manager claims to have comped my players card but of course that was a lie once I left and checked my card. I did let her know I would be writing a review of my experience. Avoid Smokey Joe unless you are looking for the most worst experience when dining out. The staff and management need some customers service...

We were a party of 2 and ordered a gumbo soup, Caesar salad with chicken, and Cheesesteak po boy with onion rings and two soft drinks. Our waiter Jessica got us drinks and took our order then disappeared for about 45mins. Heard another waiter say “Jessica left for the day” and that it was only them two left. So I asked said waiter if our food was coming and was told the “kitchen staff was behind on orders”. Saw other folks who seated after us get their food before us. 1hr later, Jessica comes back and apologizes for the wait and offered chips and salsa. A kitchen staff comes out with the gumbo and chips and salsa and apologizes for the wait but said the chicken for the Caesar salad had sat out for awhile so they had to remake the chicken. 1hr & 10mins later salad and cheesesteak po boy comes out. Observed a party of five get their food in 20mins. The gumbo was okay as it did not have enough andouille sausage, the salad was good (hard to mess up), chips were stale, cheesesteak was okay and onion rings were cold so we did not eat it. Overall poor service. A common considerate gesture for our wait time would’ve been to take off drinks from our ticket. First and last time going here. Should’ve read reviews before hand as I agree with another review “Does it normally take an hour...
