I'm not a picky eater. I rarely complain. My 9-year-old granddaughter chose this place for her birthday dinner. My daughter drove an hour, round trip to be here. The food was not hot. Our hostess/attendant was friendly. However she took my grandson's plate as he stood by his chair. I thought it was strange. He clearly hadn't finished. I was eating slowly as I always do. I had my silverware in my hand still chewing as the hostess/attendant took my dessert! Am I missing some type of culture practice? I gave a nonverbal que by quickly clutching my drink with my free hand and held it close to my chest so there was no miscommunication. The server offered my desert back with trash on top of it! You can imagine my expression. Not rude & globally relevant. "Don't go near the dog until he's finished eating" , especially when Mrs. dog left a hefty tip having already paid and rounded up to 100 bucks! I'm not a rude person but I found it frustrating that I couldn't express myself. My 9-year-old granddaughter said, "I shouldn't have picked this place for my birthday dinner. I'm sorry". What do you say to a 9-year-old? The server had no clue. I'm not sure the young manager even understood my daughter's soft words trying not to embarrass the server or manager. I only hope my word of encouragement was taken to heart by our little birthday girl. I don't have to be politically correct when I speak to her. A 9-year-old should not have to worry about stereotypes. Maybe that's okay in Hong Kong but I can do without it. Somebody please translate this: Don't mess with the dog or the puppies when they are eating!" --...
Read moreIf I could give this place a zero star I would I wish I could. Tonight will be the last night we ever eat here again. The food was cold, very disgusting! So I went over to the grill to check. It out. There was a Chinese lady standing there and I tried to ask her what it was and If it cost additional money. She spoke under her voice, acted rude and like she didn’t want to talk to me. I couldn’t understand her at all. She even walked away like she didn’t care. So I walked over to the grill and ask the Mexican guy working If he spoke English? Which he did very well! I asked him to please explain the process to me as I didn’t know. He was beyond polite and explained it very well. Due to me not having no gallbladder. I decided to try the grill out since the food was cold over at the buffet. The same Chinese person started speaking to another Chinese man in Chinese very rude and disrespectful. You could tell she was talking about me as she was staring me down. Then proceeded to watch my husbands every move as he walked around, still speaking in Chinese. Then the Chinese guy she spoke to came out the door behind the Mexican guy making my food and stood there. It was so weird. I didn’t take my eyes off my food. After it was made and the guy help pick my flavoring out. I went to sit back down. Then the waitress comes over and gives us our check and we was only one plate in and Just started eating our plates. It was absolutely rude and disrespectful, and I will never go to this place ever again! I had anxiety half the night wondering if she tried to poison...
Read moreThis was my first coming to this restaurant. I came with my son wanting to give this place a try. The restaurant seemed nice and it has a good atmosphere and friendly staff. We went to the hibachi to start. This place has a small hibachi station, which is fine since it isn't a huge buffet. We selected our items and told the chef what sauce we wanted. When we tried the hibachi, it was clearly not cooked long enough, especially the vegetables. Also, there was almost no sauce on the hibachi and it was basically flavorless. I have never before had to add soy sauce to a hibachi, but that was my experience. My son didn't eat more than a couple of bites of his. I ate a little bit more, but I came nowhere close to finishing it. The soups were pretty good, but mine wasn't quite as hot as I would expect it to be. For the rest of the items, they were all hot and freshly prepared, which was nice. However, the sauce was not very good for any of the dishes. Neither myself nor my son ate more than a couple of bites of any of the food that we tried. We kept going back up hoping to find something that we could eat, but we didn't have any luck. We ended up both leaving the restaurant hungry, which is a first for us for eating at a chinese buffet. We won't be...
