This place is a hidden gem, and I mean that in the literal sense of the word. The sign was completely hidden by the tree out front and I drove past it three times. It was totally worth it! I was immediately seated when I said that I was a party of two and the waitress immediately came by to offer me a drink. She brought my water immediately and I said that I would like to wait for my party to arrive.
It took a good 10-15 minutes for the server to check on me, which is expected, because I had asked her to wait, and I did end up ordering the Cajun Benedict. I had expected it to take a good 20 minutes for the food to be ready and by then, my friend would have been there and ordered. To my surprise, the food was brought to me in less than 10.
I had ordered the Cajun Benedict, as this is what the place is known for, and I got the potatoes as a side due to the waitress’ recommendation. The sauce was savory and extremely flavorful. The shrimp was crunchy in some parts but soft in some others - I could tell that it was freshly seared. The mahi-mahi was chopped in chunks and similarly seared. There was an ample pile of seafood in between the egg and the muffin. The seafood appeared to be seasoned as well, and at times, it seemed a bit overwhelmingly salty, but the relative blandness of the egg and the sweetness of the muffin assisted with that. The egg was soft and plump with a still runny yolk. The muffin was soggy with all of the right juices and I enjoyed every bit of it. The potatoes were in the form of a casserole, were thick and creamy, and were everything I had hoped they would be.
The service was impeccable, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was pleasant and light. I was greeted by at least three staff members and bid farewell by four. Aside from the slightly over-salted seafood, I would say this was hands down one of the best breakfast experiences I have had so far. Thank you for an incredible brunch! I’ll be back next time I’m in town!

Read moreOn our last morning in Siesta Key, the weather was beautiful and we wanted to enjoy breakfast on a patio. Based on all the great reviews, we chose Sun Garden. It was a charming spot and the patio had a relaxed atmosphere. I loved the bright pink Bougainvillea climbing up the building at the end of the patio. We were there in the off season and Siesta Key wasn't busy, so we had no problem walking right up and getting a table. After much debate, I decided on the Elvis' fried chicken plate, which was an open faced biscuit topped with boneless fried chicken, two eggs, and sausage gravy, and the top of the biscuit. My husband opted for the Cajun benedict. I asked our server about the sausage gravy because I much prefer a creamier white based sausage gravy to a greasier sausage gravy and she described it as a creamier gravy. When it arrived, it was definitely a more brown, greasier gravy. I was disappointed in that aspect of my dish, but the fried chicken was crispy and moist, and overall, the dish was good. It is a large portion that I couldn't finish, but my hubby was happy to polish it off for me! He really liked his Cajun benedict. If we visited again, I think I would opt to try a different dish, but overall, we enjoyed our breakfast and the atmosphere was worth...
Read moreStopped by the Sun Garden Cafe for a saturday brunch before heading over to Siesta Key beach for some chill time. Loved the charming outdoor seating space as soon as we got there. Coming from the winter in New York, I had been eagerly looking forward to soaking in as much sunshine as I could. We managed to get a spot for 4 as soon as we got there and within a few minutes we were sipping on some mimosas and bellinis. Drinks were decent, not the best I've had but nothing off about them either. At $7 a pop they weren't a bad deal at all. They had a pretty extensive menu, plenty of varieties of omlettes and eggs benedict. All of us decided to order some form of those.
Food came out in good time, I had ordered the Andy's way omlette which was made with egg whites, mushrooms, peppers and topped off with guacamole and pico the gallo. It sounded fantastic when I saw it on the menu but unfortunately didn't live up to that expectation. It was rather bland despite the seemingly stellar combination of ingredients and condiments. Folks who got versions of the eggs benny seemed to enjoy their meal much more.
Service was good and the waitstaff were friendly. Although my meal wasn't all that, it was a nice leisurely brunch in a...
