I wish I could give this place a 0 star rating. They say customer service is everything. Well that is by far not of importance here. You have a representative of your establishment sitting outside speaking Italian with a friend. I understand Italian and can easily understand that he was talking very negatively about my boyfriend and I. When we bought a water just so we could continue to sit at the table we were at outside, we were forced to try the gelato. While it was nice, the service left a bitter taste in my mouth. Then when I went to the restroom, I was confronted about a negative review someone wrote and it could easily be said that I was attacked twice about it. I was trying to enjoy my last night of vacation but it turned into me in tears and wanting to go home. As a young female, it is very intimidating to have a large Italian man who apparently does not speak English (yet could understand me when I told them I could understand them and read reviews written in English) confronting me along with two more people claiming to speak only Italian. The way to fix a bad review is not to intimidate others or degrade them; the best course of action would be to confront the issue and try to make things right. Maybe that's just the American way though. I was later harassed on Facebook for writing the same review above on Facebook. I can't say anything about their gelato, but from what I can tell, it's great. As for their customer service, well, my experience was...
Read moreGelato good. Organic and without artificial ingredients is a nice concept. Customer service distasteful. They "guarantee you'll be back for more", but I don't see that happening here. I'm not bashing the gelato itself, just the older woman who served it. She turned me off from the idea of returning.
I wanted to get 2 scoops of this supposed highly ranked award winning gelato since it was my first ever visit. With there being 40 something flavors and many of them being interesting and not heard of before, I wanted to make sure my two scoops were something I would like. I politely asked to sample one flavor and decided it was what would be scoop number one. I moved on to ask for another sample of the flavor of the day and it was just way too tart. I'm sure others like it, but for me I wanted to tone the taste back and asked to sample a third. I received an irritated look and was told I was cut off from trying samples as if I was becoming a problem for wanting to ensure my expensive gelato was something I even liked. I planned to spend nearly $20 and was basically told the so-called guarantee of loving the product was inaccurate because I would either have to pick a flavor to purchase and hope I liked it or do without. I did without... I got a single scoop and left.
Will not return. Customer service seems to be an issue here, as many reviews show. Great idea and concept, just poor carry through...
Read moreProduct okay but staff service lacking basic customer service skills would not recommend Not sure how to reply to the owner (which is much appreciated) and will outline some observations:
Positive & excited attitude missing from the staff. Yes everyone can be tired but if your not passionate about serving clients then it’s not a place to work. In other words, it felt like pulling teeth to order with the staff showing no desire (or ability) to have the customer share in the excitement of the purchase. No energy: again slightly different than above but when it comes to customer service making every client get excited about the product is very important and what makes you stand out compared to your competitors Careless contact with spoon. Server passed me a spoon by holding the section that I use to eat from. Obviously in a COVID/ post COVID it’s an even larger faux pas which ties into #1 and #2. Thinking on your feet and knowing how to delight customers creates the unique experience that will keep clients and referrals coming in. As an example of a local food service establishment that sets a great standard (among many) is the service at Shore which is first class
Looking forward to a better experience on...
