My brother has multiple disabilities and is one of thirty kids in Cumberland Valley’s special needs program that includes two large classes of kids of many different abilities and disabilities, all handicapped. My brother’s class, and the other class as well, had a field trip to the bowling alley and this Chick-fil-A next door. The head teacher of these classes is… not a strong planner and never calls ahead to warn the establishments of the incoming thirty disabled kids that are about to flood their business, as well as each of them’s personal care assistant and nurse. I understand that this many kids is “good for business,” but I work retail and I understand the frustration of seeing an unexpected influx of customers, and I can’t imagine it being anything but ten times worse for the food service industry. Because of this, my father takes it upon himself to call the establishments the night before and let them know ahead of time that the classes are coming, since the teacher just doesn’t (the classes have been turned away before for not warning establishments and she’s even brought the classes to places that weren’t open on the day of the field trip and had to come up with a backup restaurant on the spot).
That being said, our primary server/order taker was Braxton, a man that my father had personally been served by before and he’s told me that he goes above and beyond, his service being the best of any fast food worker on the Carlisle Pike. He was right. I’ve seen managers and employees, even the most calm, break their smile due to the chaos of the unexpected classroom, but he didn’t once stop smiling. He learned every single kids name and talked so nicely to each and every one, engaging in conversation that he absolutely didn’t have to. Taking our order, he spotted areas where we could combine our different menu items as a combo and get them for cheaper, probably saved us at least $10. The other workers came by to every single table and asked each of the kids, and their respective nurses and personal care takers, how their food was, how their day was, what they planed on doing on the field trip, they engaged with these kids that are usually pushed aside by society and even the rest of the school they attend. Food was just as good as it usually was, but that’s not what my review is about, it’s about the impeccable and above satisfactory service that this place, especially Mr. Braxton,...
Read moreI've only been to this location 3 or 4 times out of necessity but every time they have gotten my order wrong. This time it was too big of a mistake and the last straw. I was the only car at the drive-thru, so there is no excuse. My order was very easy...#6 - twelve piece grilled chicken, dt drink, honey mustard sauce, fries, kale salad, avocado dressing. They gave me an 8 piece chicken, not 12, no dipping sauces, wrong dressings. How is this possible? When I was placing my order, I could hear a bunch of laughing and giggling in the background and I had to repeat myself multiple times because I wasn't being heard over whatever was going on inside (no customers), but the employee repeated the order back to me correctly, so there's no excuse for this simple order to be so wrong. Once I got home, saw the incorrect order, I called in, was told I could drive back to the restaurant for my 4 chicken pieces...really?!?!? The manager, Madelyn, acted as if this was acceptable. I didn't want to make an issue but expressed my dissatisfaction. I was told if I brought my receipt in, they would "give" me a 12 piece chicken. That's not giving me, when I paid for it. Madelyn said, "There's nothing I can do about the sauces, and dressing doesn't come with the salad." What? I wasn't about to argue. So instead, I'll leave an honest review. Please note on the photo, the order is correct, the items are...
Read moreToday is my first time dining in but I have drive through several time even when I was not living here in Mechanicsburg area. Now I move near by area and found out this Chick-fil-A so clean, they took your tray out as soon as you finished eating . I guess she was a manager so sweet her greeting and mint candy so excellent never expect. I have not seen anything like this before in any other Chick-fil-A. BUT a gentlemen at the registered asked me if English is my first language or if I can speak Spanish. I don’t Speak Spanish. May be he was trying to help me but I felt bad being a brown color lady with my 3 years old daughter. I pause while I was taking order because I was asking my daughter in my language what she wanted. I take that positively and negatively!!! But I did not see the straw in the supply rack and ask a girl for straw who brought my order. She went and when she came back threw straw at my table without saying anything from my side. I saw straw, and after when I look back I saw her. I felt so bad about being dinning with my 3 years old. If I throw anything at my home the way she did my family would be disappointed. If this location improves all this thing I mention here it will be superb. Hope they will know who I was talking about. Manners are so important no matter what...
