L.L.Bean — Local services in Silver Spring Township

I usually shop online at LL Bean website because I get free shipping with the credit card, but their shipping can be slower than Nordstrom and Saks. I ordered something from there Black Friday and they just shipped it yesterday 8 days later.

Anyways, this review is for the store. We were disappointed that LL took out their location in Tyson's Corner, which we shop at once a year since my mom lives in DC & we visit. So it was shocking to see an LL in Central PA since this area is not high cost of living area. This store is too pricey for Harrisburg people. I'm not sure this store will last too long here.

We went to this store shortly after it opened when we went to eat at Pad Thai in August. The workers were very friendly and courteous. I don't know if this was because it was Grand Opening, but they need to keep it up. REI workers are not as chatty or friendly. The day we went, the workers were very friendly. Then we went here yesterday on December 31, 2024, but the customer service was not like it was the first time we went. There were a lot of female sales people but I didn't get approached or acknowledged by anyone. I had to go get my son from the men's section to help me get an item that was too high for me. I'm so delighted to finally have an L.L.Bean nearby! My family loves their clothes, travel bags, and door mats, among other items. I had to return a swimsuit top, and it was so easy in the store. Nothing to pack, mail, or pay shipping costs for, and an immediate credit back to my card. The dressing rooms are nicely sized, and the store is laid out well. Several years ago this would’ve been a 5 star review but lately everything has gone downhill in this store once they outsourced it to Chinese made products.

I have ordered several things recently and each one has been disappointing and ripped with gentle use within 1-2 months. (Tried 5 different items and each one had the same problem).
