It's more upscale than Texas Roadhouse or Outback Steakhouse. I love the cowboy themed silhouette dividers between the tables and the elegant lighting. We were greeted and seated quickly; however, somehow there was some unpleasant smell around our table so we had to ask to be seated somewhere else.
Our wait staff was very friendly, efficiently, accommodating and helpful. Almost impeccable; the only mistake she made was not following through with the kids menu regarding drink choices. No big deal at all. We'd still give 5 stars on service.
Bread came whole on a cutting board and was good.
For the app we had the Seasoned Steakhouse Wings $9.99 which included 4 wings and 5 drumettes. They were excellent. Temperature hot and crispy. Came with blue cheese and buffalo dips. This made me wonder why anyone would go to Buffalo Wild Wings.
The steaks came with a side and a salad (or a second side).
The 6 oz Renegade Sirloin $12.49 tasted a bit off. It lacked elasticity and had a bit of foie gras taste. The Sweet potato side was OK. It didn't blow me away like the loaded sweet potato at Texas Roadhouse did.
The 12 oz New York Strip $20.49 was much better, exactly what I expected. The loaded potato side was good, though it needed more sour cream; also the bacon bits were rather tough to chew. Garden Salad with white balsamic vinaigrette was crisp and refreshing; decent size as well.
Kids sirloin meal with fries $7.99 wasn't as good as Texas Roadhouse, both in terms of taste and value.
Yeah, somehow I couldn't help but keep drawing comparison against Texas Roadhouse. Without hesitation, I prefer the latter for the taste, value and fun factor. But as mentioned earlier, Longhorn has a more elegant atmosphere, and the service we received was first class and I simply couldn't give it less...
Read moreWe went out to eat at Longhorn steakhouse (Carlisle pike) for Easter dinner today and unfortunately received terrible service. We were ignored for over 20 min by our waiter and had to go find our him to ask for a refill on our drinks and to be helped. Once he took our order and brought our initial drinks and soup we did not see him again until we went looking for him. He did not bring us out our food it was other employees. They were not busy so he was not attending others. We chose to not leave a tip after he snapped at my husband when he went looking for him and found him standing in a huddle chuckling with the other waiters. After he saw there was no tip.... Our waiter went so far as to follow us outside walk around the building and stare us down (arms crossed in an intimidating stance) as we drove off. Never have we experienced service this terrible. We went back shortly after but not until after we drove away and stopped at a store nearby. I wanted to be sure he was no longer waiting outside behaving that way. The manager James was apologetic but only offered us a gift card which I declined as I will not patron this restaurant again. It’s honestly shocking that someone would behave so badly toward customers. I’m not a complainer, but I could not let this go without having it be told. Who knows how many others he has done this to before us & would have after us. Jorge Z needs to learn some serious etiquette if he wants to continue to work with...
Read moreNormally love it here, but this Sunday night was a letdown! Menu offerings were great. Took advantage of "longpour" value on Moscato (1&1/2 glasses for only $2.50 more than single glass). Upgraded a side & enjoyed fresh green beans w/tasty Gouda sauce & crispy onion topping. However, steak was why we came. I'd gotten a $10 off coupon via email for 2 filets, my fav! Sadly, both of our's were over cooked, mine more so (still tender, but not juicy). Our server didn't check back til we were 1/3 way thru meal. She offered to get another, but I didn't wanna wait longer. Said she'd tell manager, so I asked for some sauce. (A special truffle cream 1 was on menu for $2 more. Thought she might offer that since they muffed order. Nope. A-1 or gravy.) Then she gives us bill w/o applying coupon (which I showed her on my phone when we ordered). I let her see it again & read off promo code. She said she'd take care of it. Next thing I know, manager is stopping by, not to ask how meal was. No. He's asking to see my coupon, not apologetically, like it's protocol, but more like I'm trying to pass off a fake. Really?? It came via Longhorn's email club & was valid for another week. :-( Though all the sides & the Red Rock shrimp add-on were delicious, the main course wasn't great & service was off, from server to mgmt. Really hope they do better next time or I may just put up w/noise at Texas Roadhouse for steak...
