A few nights ago, I heard from a friend that a couple of her customers had recommended Peters Kitchen to eat it at; and that it was the best ramen noodle place. I was all over that and couldn't wait to find it and try it!
Peters Kitchen has a nice variety of Hawaiian/Asian dishes to choose from, ramen to rice and several things in between.
Today, my husband and I decided to experience Peters Kitchen. We decided to split some Pancit Bihon; the dish consists of rice noodles, various vegetables, and a choice of meat, shrimp, pork, or chicken; we decided to choose chicken. We promptly ordered and then waited and waited, 20 minutes quickly turned into 35 minutes; Although being the first customers in, there were many to-go orders, I usually would be a bit miffed about it, but I fully understand ordering ahead of time if you know what you want, next time I will plan ahead.
The pancit was very flavorful and enjoyable; oh, and the amount given was well worth the price asked at $12.95; I'm happy we didn't get two dishes; it would have been entirely too much food!
The restaurant as a whole was charming and colorful; I love the bit of island feel and how it reverberated throughout. The restaurant was stain-free and polished, with no unusual or foul smells. My husband said the men's restroom was clean and tidy. The lady's restroom was a little bit disheveled; the mirror had water stains like someone was shaking the water off their hands, and it splashed on the mirror, no paper liners for the stool and a few toilet paper pieces scattered about the floor. I've seen much worse pre-covid, but I have also seen cleaner; however, it was not what I would consider filthy by any means.
The server was bubbly, cute, friendly to boot. Also, she offered us a couple of samples of their desserts; I'd be lying if I said I knew what they were, I really can't recall what the names were, but they were tasty!
So, will I return? I can't wait to try some of the other items they offer, so yes!!!!
Anyone interested in this adorable little restaurant can find them at 10516 Silverdale Way NW #126 in Silverdale, Washington. Listen closely; if you blink, you may miss them. The only sign I noticed was directly in front of the establishment. I have been in that area on several occasions and never saw them. They are in the same strip mall Chuck E. Cheese, Kaiser Eye Care, Green Garden Pho, and few other small businesses and across from All Star-Lanes and Casino. There is plenty of parking space, even pre-covid. I never had problems finding parking there. Just look for the sitting area off the sidewalk, and that's where you'll find them.
Come, enjoy and support this locally owned small business and please be safe and...
Read moreThe food is good and if you are of Pacific islander or Asian descent then you know that it's something that your mom or yourself could possibly cook if needed to. However, the ramen I will say is probably the best locally and really good ramen takes a lot of patience to make and prepare. That I will say if you must I would go for the ramen especially during the cold rainy winter days of our beautiful state. So if anything go try the ramen I would have included pictures however, I couldn't wait the smell was too good and I ate it all. The one negative thing that I will say is that I was trying to get onto the Wi-Fi because I passed my data cap on my mobile phone. I asked if I could have the password for their Wi-Fi and was told that they did not have Wi-Fi available for customers when clearly it showed Peter's kitchen Wi-Fi. Their was two of them one they probably use it for their register and the other I dunno.. That was probably the only downside and disappointing. I would say 95% wait no I would say 99% of the places that I do go to, whether it be for coffee, unch or dinner. They have free Wi-Fi available for customers. So Peter's kitchen if you're reading this review please make the Wi-Fi accessible to customers! That would be greatly appreciated. And It might sound a tad bit immature or selfish however, try sitting there waiting for your food and your data speed is so slow or lack thereof that it's so frustrating because you want to play or surf the internet or possibly even give a rating, review or both about the place that you are at. So with that being said again, free Wi-Fi available...
Read moreTook me a while to build the courage to post this review so here it is: I worked here for a month. I was excited to work here because I liked the food and the aesthetic vibe. The owner's son and family friend helped me get the job, and they were both very sweet to me. Everyone I worked with was decently nice... except that Filipino lady named Tess. She was the rudest, most impatient, and unprofessional person I have ever met and worked with. I never worked in the food industry before and she made my first-time experience in the food industry horrible and more stressful than it should've been. Tess constantly scoffed at me, talked down to me, and even yelled my name from across the restaurant while customers were dining. During my last day of working with her, I was cleaning the restaurant after it closed while she was lazily sitting down, scrolling through her phone, and telling me what to clean. A few days later, I received a text message from her boyfriend, the owner, that I'm fired with no given reason. That was definitely not a coincidence. The owner never gave me a warning nor spoke to me directly about my work ethic before he sent me that text message. Not only was Tess unprofessional but so was the owner... no wonder they are a couple; a perfect example of why business shouldn't be mixed with pleasure. Overall, the food is good but it's a poorly structured place with long wait times. I will never support the business ever again.
Moral of the story: never work for a family-owned business unless you already know them. It's better to work for corporations because of better benefits and...
