I called LaDawn on a wing and a prayer yesterday to see if she could possibly create a cake with a golden shovel decoration on top for a surprise for one of my team members who was being recognized for her bright idea at TriHealth Orthopedics. I called several places who said they could offer something but I just kept coming back to her reviews. She asked if I cared what kind of cake because she had a quarter sheet cake of almond White and I said that sounded like it would work to me. I wasn't sure it would be enough so we decided on some cupcakes. She had yellow available and asked if that would work and I said at this point anything work considering how last minute it was (I needed enough for 30 people by noon today). I did say it would be kind of nice to have chocolate if at all possible since we were going to have white cake and that would offer variety but told her it was not a big deal if yellow was easiest and the best option. So I showed up today to pick up the cake and the cupcakes and sure enough she made chocolate! She said her husband said "well she really wanted chocolate" so she found the time to accommodate us! The cake was beautiful and so were the cupcakes but they tasted even better! No one on my team had ever had her sweets before but everyone took pictures of her label for future ordering possibilities! My wife and I have worked with LaDawn now on two occasions and we couldn’t recommend her enough. We love that she is local to us and so easy to work with. We’ve also stopped into the storefront several times for the individual treats she has— everything she makes is so yummy.

LaDawn made our wedding cake which was a simple two tiered strawberry cake with buttercream frosting. We didn’t want anything extravagant but LaDawn still did a flawless job. The cake looked fabulous and tasted even better. A year later and we’re still drooling over the taste of our strawberry wedding cake.

The process for getting a wedding cake made by LaDawn was also great! We particularly loved the cake tasting which left us with so much leftover cake that we felt positively spoiled. The design process was clear and easy as well, even though we got a simple design we felt like she could make us anything we requested. Between the cake tasting and the final product we also feel like we got a really great value.

We have also ordered sheet cakes from LaDawn. Several for the wedding guests and one for our baby shower. They were great as we have come to expect from Cakes by LaDawn. Sweets by LaDawn is truly a gem of this city! We heard about Ladawn’s shop from a few friends and then happened upon her booth at a bridal convention. After trying her cake, we were sold to choose her for our wedding! She was so accommodating to our needs and there is definitely something for everyone no matter the occasion. We did a small cake for just the wedding party and parents, and then cupcakes, brownies, and cookies for our guests! Everything was very affordable as well. Her cake and desserts were such a hit at our wedding, that we decided to go With LaDawn again for our gender reveal cake and baby shower desserts. She does such a wide range of designs from simple to very detailed and decorated cakes and cupcakes. We will definitely continue to go to Sweets by LaDawn even if it’s just to pick up a sweet treat during the week. Everything she makes is delicious and her service is impeccable.
