CALL AHEAD. If this review was food-only, it would have been five stars. But, since we had not been warned ahead of our first visit, from entering the restaurant to the food served was 50 minutes. The menu clearly states “cooked to order-allow time”, but that doesn’t help when you are already there. To-go or dine-in, the smart money is in calling first. There are only six tables with seating, many two-tops in this small restaurant in a strip center. But, consider yourself warned and head over for some great Latin food. While we were pondering the menu, literally every customer in the place had already been there before and told us to expect a wonderful meal. We had two Mofongos (the classic with Carne Frita, the other substituting slow-cooked pork for the pork chunks, $18). The Carne Frita was a little over-cooked but very flavorful, the slow-cooked was excellent. We also tried the traditional Cuban ($13), very tasty and like the other two entrees, too generous to eat in one setting. Allow time and be aware they are only open three days a week- 12 to 7- and they’re serious about opening at noon, even with people standing outside, they didn’t open until a few...

I live in downtown Greenville, and I don't usually get out to the suburbs, but to eat at this restaurant I would actually walk all the way to Simpsonville. Let's get this out of the way first: the food is unbelievably good. I usually get the tripleta, which is a sandwich made from slow-roasted pork. It's thematically similar to a Cuban sandwich, but so much more interesting.

And while we're on the subject of the sandwiches: they're huge. If you go to Latinos, either go hungry or a take friends. With a single sandwich you can feed two, maybe three, people. For eight bucks!

It's run by a husband and wife team, and everything about the food shows that home-grown, made-with-love ethos. The DIY nature of the restaurant shows in the decor as well: it's simple and unpretentious and very welcoming.

Such a good find. It's off the beaten path, but the great...

Very friendly staff and delicious food. My family and I went here for Thanksgiving. They had a special menu for the holiday which was different from their usual Puerto Rican menu. The food was like it was homemade and they cooked it all fresh to order. Very polite, kind and helpful staff who treated us like family. I'm looking forward to coming back to try their regular menu. I loved the fresh made cheesecake 💗 amazing! On a side note, I am a rather large man and I use a cane for stability. My leg fell asleep when I stood up and I fell backwards onto the floor, taking a table with me. It was extremely embarrassing to me, but the staff and even a group of customers helped me up and made me feel better with understanding and kind words. Friendly...

Visiting Greenville and I found this Puerto Rican restaurant. I went yesterday but they are closed. Open Thursday to Sunday only so I went back today. Of course, I ordered the pernil con arroz y gandulees, maduros, con una colita champán y una pastelito de guayaba. The food is not bad. The pastel de guayaba was great. My only issue is I always compare el arroz y gandulees with my mom’s and sorry, no one beats moms home made ones. But these were good. I forgot to add. Had this to go. Service was fast and only one couple eating while there and another order to go, so we got the food fast.

THE KING OF MOFONGO cooks here. I love this place. Nothing I have eaten has ever been less than DELICIOSO. Have the Alcapurrias, have the Monfongo, have the Pernil, have whatever is on special - it doesn’t matter because you are going to LOVE IT ALL. Do not hesitate! And it’s made to ORDER. If you are in a hurry - order ahead. If not, sit back and enjoy the music while you wait for your FRESH, PIPING HOT FOOD to be served to you. YUM. WEPA.
