Smaller hole in the wall type place to eat in Sisters! Kind of a fun and funky place that has a good ol’ bagel and cream cheese or a little different fare if you want something different for lunch. For the kiddos at lunch the best option was a bagel and cream cheese - no peanut butter and jelly or grilled cheese etc. They had 2 soup options but neither of which seemed like it would be filling enough by themselves although probably would have been tasty... like a corn chowder ... and also had some different bagel sandwich and wrap options. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was an egg cooked with spinach in it but no meat options to add. We also got a few bagels with cream cheese and another turkey bagel sandwich (this looked the best). We went about 1:30 and there was no wait. Bathroom was stocked but not very clean but not horrible - broken door knob... and there were numerous cobwebs hanging from the ceiling above our table and the one by us but otherwise the debris on the floor looked like it was from recent foot traffic, not neglect to sweep. It’s worth a try if you’re in the area and like a non-chain. They were pretty quick to bring our food out as well.

Some mixed emotions about this place. My sister has always loved it and many vegetarians are big fans. Pros: Cute outdoor space (folk festival location!), many gluten free and vegan options, tasty sandwiches & wraps, they have bagels (which Sisters Bakery does not) Cons: Service can be interesting.. the other day there were three groups in line and no one taking orders. One girl was hard at work making sandwiches (mine wasn’t cut all the way so it fell apart trying to separate halves) and about five people in the back. One came out, looked at the line, and retreated to the back. Finally he asked the first group if they were ready to order and started making his way through the line, notifying each what they were out of. Several customers came back to the counter with corrections on their order or to check on the status. All this to say, it can be hit or miss but worth giving it a go.

Unfortunately I have started coming here less & less due to the constant burnt bagels. If you get your order to go, make sure it’s not BURNT before you leave. An extra toast on a bagel doesn’t mean for it to be burnt. I was able to eat the one half that wasn’t too burnt but the other half was too burnt (picture). The toaster or whomever is operating it needs to get adjusted. If it’s burnt, why hand it out? Like you can see but also feel how tough the bagel is when prepping the bagel. Also, wtf is this type of chai tea is this?! It’s like sludge! My boss asked me what I was drinking so I popped the lid off & found this. I thought I was feeling sick from not eating enough food but now I think it’s from whatever I’ve been drinking. I’ve NEVER had a chai like this from this cafe before. I’m stunned this place is going downhill so quickly. It used to be so good.

So this morning on our way home from camping, I stopped into Sisters based on recommendations to try out Angeline's Bakery. We waited all morning for this special treat, packing and getting out of there early before we were completely starving. They were supposed to have good gluten free items and be Celiac friendly.. My over all impression is that they were short, not friendly and impatient as I tried to place our order, and the kids tried to make their order. I explained that I had Celiac and was asking questions about some of their items and the lady didn't seem at all interested in answering questions, she just kept asking "is that all". The website said they sold loaves of gluten free bread which was the main reason I went there. She said they didn't make any, but when she feels like making more she can call me if I want to leave my info. Um, no thanks. So I ordered a blueberry banana bread and a scone for later. Both kids with me ordered food, and I ordered something for Charley, and three hot drinks. They got the drink order wrong and had to remake it. Then despite being told I was Celiac they put all the breads in the same bag together. Meaning now I can't eat anything in the bag because it was topped with the gluten breads. I had kept the blueberry/banana piece out of the bag thankfully so went to sit down to at least eat it. I'd give River my scone. When I opened it, it was oozy and WAY under baked. So I took it to the counter and asked if they could give me another piece as it was still raw in the middle. The lady then asked if it was vegan, (she worked there not me), and after determining it was vegan started explaining that since it was vegan it wasn't raw. There were no eggs or dairy in it. I said it was under cooked, raw, liquid batter in the middle...whatever she wanted to call it but it was a gross blob of batter and I won't eat that. She said she was sorry that is the recipe and walked off. I was floored. No offer for anything else, no refund..just too bad. At this point I can't eat any of the food that I purchased because they contaminated it, they refused to replace my bread, gotten my drink wrong (but did fix that) and I was becoming damn hangry. So I sat and watched everyone else eat, and I'd already spent $25 on food- not being able to eat any of it. So they did notice by then that I was upset (not from me talking to them, or telling them they contaminated my food and I couldn't eat it, or watching me throw away a full uneaten slab of raw dough blob) and offered me a cookie. One cookie. Worth $1.25. I didn't want a cookie, I wanted breakfast! So, this is how my morning started. I finally just now at almost noon got some food. I know one thing, I will never go back to that place again. This was the first time I've tried to eat out. What a huge...

I came early in the morning on the day of the sister's quilt festival and ordered six decaf shots of espresso. But what I received instead was a latte and I'm lactose intolerant.... So then they remade it and gave me a regular espresso Americano instead. I'm a horribly allergic to caffeine so that's why I order decaf all the time. Both drinks were incorrect and now I can barely function after drinking all that caffeine And my stomach is in knots after drinking the milk.... The nice lady who took the order wrote on cup the exact correct order that they still made it wrong twice!

But what was really frustrating was that I immediately had to drive back home so I could lie down because I felt like I was either going to throw up or pass out..... Six shots of decaf espresso was written on the cup properly...

I think the second go around they accidentally gave me someone else's drink because it was in a very tall cup filled to the top with water.... Six shots of decaf espresso should be in a tiny little cup.

Same thing happened to me 3 years ago and it took about 24 hours for my heart to calm down. It's now 6 hours later and I'm still in bed having taken some medicine to relax my heart..

I totally understand that mistakes can be made, especially on such a busy day...... But I know the difference between caffeine and non-caffeinated....

please don't gaslight me and tell me I can't distinguish between regular coffee and decaf. I am...

We stopped at Angeline’s for some gluten free pastries while we were passing through and took them to go. We had a very mixed experience: ordering took quite a while, and once we had ordered, it took a pretty long while for the employees to collect our pastries even though we didn’t order coffees or lunch items. Unfortunately, since it took so long and a different employee filled our order than took our order, we didn’t get a correct order. We ordered: 1 GF peach muffin 1 GF lemon bar 1 vanilla cupcake 2 GF marionberry scones 1 piece of carrot cake 1 strawberry scone

We received: 2 GF lemon bars 2 CHOCOLATE cupcakes 2 Marion berry scones (assumed we received GF as requested, fingers crossed) 1 strawberry scone 1 piece of carrot cake 0 peach muffins

I’m hopeful that what we received and what we paid for balanced out, since we were missing an item but received an extra…but since there were no prices on the items in the cases I don’t really know. As to the taste, I really enjoyed my marionberry scone and lemon bar, but my daughter who ordered a vanilla cupcake said the chocolate cake had no flavor and ate only the frosting off the top. If we pass through sisters again, I’d probably stop by but I’d check my order before...
