Have I dined at this location? No. What I can say about this McDonald’s is that at 1:03am I did get an answer to my phone call and a lingering question of over 25 years as to WHY the ice cream machines are mysteriously always down? The phone line rang for just one brief moment, an angel, who I later learned was named Austin, had answered my call at this curious hour. My fiancé had visited the McDonald’s on Voters Rd just half an hour before, only to find that neither milkshakes nor ice cream were available. It was after midnight, for our purposes. In my lingering curiosity and yearning to know why the ice cream machines were always down (perhaps this was some trade/industry secret) I picked up the phone and dialed the same McDonald’s on Voters Rd he had ordered from. Well, to my dismay, the line rang and rang and after a few minutes someone picked up and then hung up the line! I figured, this must be a mistake. So, I attempted to call again. This time, yielding the same result in a shorter period. The McDonald’s employees of Voters Rd lacked interest in late night discussion with me about their ice cream machine - OK… but our angel over at the McDonald’s on Gause, Mr. Austin… he answered that line promptly, kindly and professionally. He took every effort to satisfy over 25 years of curiosity to explain that the ice cream machines are in fact, NOT always down and are just down from midnight to 6AM while they are being cleaned through the evening. Read moreI see a lot of negative reviews so I will share my experience. I don’t really do a lot of reviews especially on fast food restaurants because for the most part they are all the same to me with the exception of Chick-fil-a or Canes. But I am a restaurant manager in the area and I got off around 1:00 am. I decided to just run through the drive through. The guy at the window asked me to hold for a moment which was fine considering I didn’t know what I wanted. I hardly ever eat McDonalds because the food is ALWAYS cold no matter what time I go, mainly the fries. When he did take my order he was friendly and had a great attitude. Which is very important to point out because it’s usually the bland “What do you want”. They couldn’t care less about what you are saying. But the guy last night cracked a joke with me about not wanting sauce with my nuggets and we both started laughing. Also, when I pulled off, I grabbed my fries, expecting the normal room temperature if you’re lucky, cardboard sticks. But my fries were so hot that I actually had to wait for them to cool down a little. My chicken nuggets weren’t at as hot but I have definitely had way worse. Read moreAbsolutely the worst McDonald's we have ever been to. The double drive thru car line had about 10 cars,at least, waiting in line. So decided to park and get down to order inside. Upon entering about 20 people either waiting to order or waiting for their order. Standing in line, it was very obvious that there were about 12 employees working but the majority of workers were just standing around talking or walking aimlessly. Stood in line about 10 mins then another 20 mins just to get my order of 2 coffees with cream and 2 sausage biscuits. Again, this was not from a lack of employees but from a lack of effort/work by employees. Customers were anxious, agitated, and also making comments about the extremely poor service at this McDonald's. Where was the shift manager or supervisor? Repeatedly (3 times), I reminded them that I wanted 2 creamers in each coffee. However, when we returned to our car, our coffees had NO creamers at all. They couldn't even get our order correctly even at a snail's pace!!! Upper management and/or franchise owner should be taking better care of their customers. I know we will never stop...
