I’ve been to this restaurant several times with my parents and would have never expected to write a review like this. Yesterday my mother and I went to Pedro’s wanting a margarita and a quesadilla. Real basic, nothing over the top fancy. We sat at booth 22, and we served margarita’s quickly and chips, salsa, and queso that I ordered. About 15 minutes went by, and we were looking for our waitress to see what was up with our food. About 8 min passed, and then we were served some more chips and salsa by another waiter, but no food.
Moreover, another 10 minutes passed, and I saw that a lady and her friends that came after my mother and I sat down got their food before we did. Immediately after viewing what happened, I started to feel angry knowing that I did not come to this restaurant to eat only chips and salsa, plus seeing people that came after we got serviced first. Our waitress finally comes back to our table, and we then ask what’s going on with our food. She then replies, saying that the kitchen is backed up with orders and apologies for the wait; however, I tell her that I see customers coming in after my mother and I sat down. She tells us to wait for another 15 minutes, and the food will be out. So 15 minutes did pass, and we still didn’t have any food. Our waitress was nowhere in sight, so I stopped another waitress on her way to the kitchen, telling he the same thing about waiting for our food for about 35 minutes and only filling up on chips which isn’t what we came in here for. The young lady seemed frustrated that we had to complain to her and stated the same story that the kitchen is backed up and would check on our order.
About 3 minutes later, a male waiter came and put our food on the table. The food wasn’t to my liking seeing that the quesadilla, rice, and refried beans seemed rushed and didn’t have enough ground beef put into the tortilla shell. At that time, after waiting for about 45 minutes for food, we didn’t even have an appetite. When our waitress returned, we told her that we weren’t satisfied with the food or customer service. I can understand that when a place of business gets busy that people may have to wait a little longer than expected; however, the right thing to do is not serve other customers that came after your previous patron. That’s completely unfair and disrespectful. My mother and I were starving and didn’t expect to be treated like this, and should have not. BE FAIR TO PEOPLE, AND DON’T LEAVE THEM WAITING! Yesterday will be my last time eating at this restaurant, and I hope for the future of the business that they will do BETTER TO OTHERS than what they did to my poor...
Read moreTo begin with, I asked the hostess for a table close by, as I had difficulty walking far with my cane; she sat us in the first booth inside the door (where everyone passes through) without even asking if I could sit in a booth. I usually do not. When I asked for a table, instead, she waved her hand and said, "Oh, the tables are way at the back of the restaurant." I know this isn't the case, as there were tables on the other side of the booth. However, I just dropped it and squeezed into the booth. Then, a server came, who introduced herself as Lacy (she even spelled it for me), and asked for our drink orders. I asked for sweet tea with lemon on the side. When she brought them, the lemon were slices, not wedges, and absolutely impossible to squeeze into my tea. Instead, it went all over the table, on my good blouse, and into my face. When Lacy returned, we asked her about the sizes of the white queso dip, then requested a large bowl of it. She brought us a small side of the queso. The chips were so stale they were downright chewy, and I was glad to not have wasted the $9.99 on a bowl of queso. When she returned for our order, we ordered our dinner, plus an appetizer. The appetizer came, but there were no plates to eat it on. We asked for plates, but they came as our dinner was served. My tamale was so salty it was almost inedible. We asked for more chips, but didn't get them until after Lacy brought the check. She didn't even ask if we wanted anything else, or dessert, even! Then, she came back with boxes but never returned to take our payment. We had tgo up front to pay. On the way out, I asked the hostess for a business card so I could call the manager. She said she didn't have one. I asked for ANYTHING with their number so I could call. She told me to go online and get it from there. She SHOULD have offered to get the Manager right then, but she did not. We will NOT be returning to this awful place. I could have bought 3x the amount of food at the grocery and enjoyed it 100% more. Terrible food,...
Read moreWell, I before I start my venting, let me just say in my beginning experiences coming here, this restaurant was one of my favorites that I would frequent on a weekly basis. In the last few months, the service has been awful! Today was the last straw for me. I went into the restaurant around 11:20am by myself as I usually do while on my lunch break. The middle aged hostess sat me down while 3 other females stayed by the front door. I sat down and waited for a server to come to the table. The lady who brings out the chips and salsa came right away, but no server came within a 10 minute time frame. A gentlemen at that point joined all 4 of the women at the front door area and still no service. One female playing with her hair, maybe braiding it at one point. The older hostess took a hit of her vape right there by the front entrance behind the table they were all gathered around. I waited another minute and then I got up and walked past all 5 of them and walked right out the door to my car and left to go spend my money at another restaurant. The last few times have been similar in that the servers wait a while to come to the table. It has gotten to the point that I would pay as soon as I order because of the time it takes to be attended to. Well, needless to say, it will be a while before I return to this restaurant if I ever decide to do so. Oh, BTW, I called the restaurant about 5 minutes ago to address my visit today and was told they were not there and to call back in about 30 minutes. Seems like a major risk to this business to have such a lack of leadership and poor attention to good, paying customers. I guess I'll go back to eating El Paso multiple times a week where I am attended to immediately and with a smile, it's closer to home and work anyway. Pedro's,...
