McDonald's — Restaurant in Smithfield

I’ve been coming to this place for decades and I knew the original family that owned it. I don’t if they sold it or if they’re just not paying attention to their business anymore, but this has to be the worst McDonald’s I’ve been to anywhere on the planet.

For the past several visits, I’ve ordered through the application and arrived about 10 to 15 minutes after doing so. As it has been happening every time for weeks, when I arrived at the window, I’m always told to move into a parking space to wait an indefinite amount of time. Even when ordering a simple egg McMuffin for breakfast and nothing else.

I learned from the server that the reason they do this is to cut down on the waiting times they are reporting to their higher. If you’re waiting in your car for your order at the window, your time waiting there counts against them. If you’re sitting in a parking space, well, who knows?

The manager who came to the window and asked me to move and used the excuse that the quarter pounders are cooked to order. No kidding! I already knew they. I’d order a quarter pounder 15 minutes ago! There’s no way it takes 15 minutes to cook a quarter pounder. I’m not moving from the window anymore to join a line of people at the parking spaces waiting for food. Get your act together.

Last time, I was directed to a parking space, the wait was for an 10 additional minutes. This is unacceptable. Today, I told them it was not acceptable to have me park and I remained at the window for my order to be served 5 minutes later. So, it took a total of 20 minutes to get a quarter pounder. Come on. At least, it beat waiting on another 15 to 20 minutes in a parking space, as I did for other visits.

Worse yet, the double quarter pound with cheese and bacon was so dried out and overcooked that It was inedible. It tasted like I was chewing on shoe leather (see picture). Maybe that’s why I had to wait so long? You had to overcook it? Or did you just give me one they had been sitting there a few hours and dried out because I complained about the service?

I would urge the owner of this place to pay better attention to their quality and service. I won’t be back to this location after patronizing it many, many times...

Awful service, waited almost a half hour at the drive thru, then this young miss additude is half asleep and I could barely hear her when she's like moaning hi...can I help you. So I ask for a sausage mcmuffin and a hash brown, she says we have none made yet. So I say what time do you open? She says 6am. I say what time do you have? She says 6:16 am so I'm thinking to myself so what's the problem? Then she says a sausage mcmuffin will take 15 minutes to cook and hash browns take 6 minutes. I'm thinking so I'll have to wait even longer, f that! So I ask are the sausage breakfast burritos ready? She's like humm...ill check.. I'm thinking to myself wth I don't start my day at 4am to waste time at this place, so anyway I drive up to the window to pay and wait even longer, i can tell this employee is beyond misrable and a gossip queen and she starts telling me the reason she was late is because she had to lock up late last night and blah..blah..blah....as if I care about her personal problems. So after all that nonsense I pay for the burrito and think to myself Its so much easier just to go to dunkin donuts across the street, they...

Rude, rude, rude manager. We were there at 1:30 on 6/15/19. I stopped to get my daughter a happy meal as a treat and decided to grab a small fry for myself. When I got to the pay window the poor girl reread my order to me but left off the fry. I corrected her and she changed my total. Pull up to the pick up window and the (terrified) boy hands me the happy meal and a soda. I tell him I didn't order a soda, but I did want a small fry. He nervously asks his manager what to do, then tells me he can't give me the fry. After trying to explain my order to him again the manager comes over, rudely asks what the problem is, then tells me they didn't charge me for the fry so she won't give it to me and if I really want fries I should get back in line and order again because I'm "making everyone in line behind me wait". I explain that I just waited in that long line myself to get the fries I ordered and that I wouldn't get back in line to fix the mistake THEY made.
