We recently tried a variety of dishes at this restaurant, and while some were enjoyable, others fell short of expectations.
The Pollada a Chicken stood out with its tasty and flavorful seasoning, a definite highlight of our meal. However, the Lomo Saltado was overly salty, which detracted from the authentic Peruvian flavor we were hoping for. The tacos had potential, but the meat was a bit dry. Similarly, the empanada was a good portion size but lacked seasoning and was slightly dry. The anticuchos were disappointing, as they seemed to have been left out too long, arriving dry and cold. The cebiches were far too salty, making it hard to enjoy. The dessert, arroz con leche, was underwhelming. It lacked the right consistency, needing to be more runny, and was short on cinnamon and raisins. Overall, it wasn’t a great dessert experience.
The service was very slow, and we had a concerning issue with the billing process. We were initially presented with a bill, but after giving our credit card, the amount on the receipt we were asked to sign was higher. When we questioned it, the staff apologized and explained that they had forgotten to add the drinks to the original bill. While mistakes happen, it was inappropriate to adjust the total without informing us beforehand.
Overall, while there were some positive aspects, the food and service need significant improvement to meet...
Read moreFirst at all, the service %18 for 6ppl was already included therefore the waiter did not even try to engage or be welcoming. Trio ceviche, only rocoto had a good flavor. They did not even have cancha for the table, there was barely onion salad and cancha in the plate. Pollada did not even have a hint of aji panca. The sauces are a joke since their tiny toy containers barely gets a spoon of sauce. They placed a cartboard llama, that has a note "dont touch the llama", then why did you even bother. They did not have pisco sour, but offer Margarita, We drove like 40 min to try this place out, but we guess we just go back to Limo. No, we wont return here, for almost $200 bill we expected a little bit of courtesy at least. We did not feel welcome and they need to work on their...
Read moreRead a review of Leche de Tigre in Smyrna and knew I had to try it out. I was greeted by Nicolas who got me seated along with some water and a Dos XX. I knew what I wanted before I came in...the Lomo Saltado. This is a savory mix of Peruvian and Chinese cultures with marinated beef stir-fried with onions, tomatoes, and a soy-based sauce over fries and a side of rice. I've had variations where the sauce was thick like a gravy or thin like this one...either way this was delicious! The steak was medium rare as ordered and very tender and the steak sauce provided is exceptional. This dish is really good, and I'll be back to try some of the other items on the menu. Great food and service...well worth a trip to Smyrna or their Nashville location.
