I will start by saying my wife and I love Pizza Hut. For a reasonable price, we can order a couple custom pizzas and breadsticks which will last us for dinner over two nights; and when everything is made as expected, the food tastes great. Getting what we expect, unfortunately, is the case less than half the time we order from this location.
Almost every time we order from this location something goes wrong, be it simply missing marinara cups or a cheese shaker we paid extra for, to much worse. Read below for two of our most recent orders, which gave us such a bad experience it warranted this review.
The first story takes place about a month or two ago. We placed an order an hour before closing, and received the automated pizza tracker message saying our order was received. Close to their closing time we realized the tracker never updated past that and so we tried to call the store. No answer, but our call was forwarded to some kind of Pizza Hut call center and the representative told us “he’s not surprised” that this happened, and “they probably ‘completed’ the order for $0 so they can close the store for the night.” Well that’s exactly what happened because I can see it under my order history in the app. Now it’s past 9pm and we need to figure out a plan B for dinner. Great. I also had to waste my time going to the store the next day to speak to the manager who seemed to have no idea this even happened. He gave me a credit for a future duplicate order, but that didn’t really make up for the loss of time both the previous night and me having to stop in the store to get it sorted out. We took a little break from Pizza Hut after we got our replacement order (pick up this time).
The second story took place just this past week. Our order made it to our house this time, but all three maraina cups, a cheese shaker, and our cheese sticks did not. The driver volunteered to go back to the store to grab them, which was nice, however it took over half an hour (the store is less than 10min away), and when he dropped everything off it was STILL missing one cup of marinara. The story continues though, as my wife’s stuffed crust was so undercooked we had to try and put it in our oven to finish cooking it. After that debacle, to her horror she found pepperoni mixed in under the cheese in one of the bites she took. We are vegetarian, so as you could imagine this did not play out well. Between that and it being an undercooked mess, we ended up just tossing it in the trash.
The way this location is run is an embarrassment, and management needs to do better at correcting these issues that occur time and time again. We will be taking a hiatus from ordering any Pizza Hut for the foreseeable future after these two horrendous incidents and recommend others steer clear of this location until something...

I am writing this review to express my absolute dismay with the service and management at Pizza Hut located in Smyrna, DE (19977).
During my visit on November 7th, I encountered a manager who displayed an alarming lack of competence. It is astounding that this individual continues to hold a position of authority within the establishment despite her clear inability to comprehend the simplest aspects of the menu.
Not only did this manager refuse to include breadsticks with my Pasta Bowl, an item that should automatically be included, but she also had the audacity to blame the receipt for her own ignorance. It appears that she can only read what's printed on that piece of paper and lacks any knowledge or understanding of the overall menu.
It is disheartening to note that my previous complaints, relayed through surveys and direct calls to customer service, have been met with complete indifference. This indicates a severe lack of regard for customer feedback and an unwillingness to address long-standing issues.
I cannot stress enough how crucial it is for Pizza Hut to take immediate action against this inept manager. It is evident that discussions and complaints have fallen on deaf ears, and customers continue to suffer as a result of her incompetence. The dismissiveness and lack of corrective action are simply unacceptable.
In light of these ongoing problems, I strongly urge potential visitors to think twice before dining at the Pizza Hut in Smyrna. The lackluster service and ineffective management will undoubtedly overshadow any positives the establishment may have.
Pizza Hut, I implore you to value your customers and take swift action to rectify this dire situation. Your failure to do so will only further cement my decision to never step foot in your...
Read moreI grew up as a Domino’s kid because I could never stand the Pizza Hut near Dover Downs in Dover, DE. My mom would order Pizza Hut from there sometimes and I always hated it. Fast forward 20 years, I’m 31 now and had a late night pizza craving at 12:30am. Only pizza joint still open is Pizza Hut so I call them for an order. Two medium 1 topping pizzas and a big Dr. Pepper come out to like $29 delivered. Comes quick, like not even 20 minutes. I’m instantly blown away by the cheese to sauce ratio.. you know how most places you get too much cheese and too little sauce? Yeah, well this was the opposite way around. I’m a sauce guy to the extent I buy marinara sauce on the side to supplement for the lack of sauce in the pizza, but I did not need it for this special time. Each bite was like soft deep dish paradise, a blend of flavor from the pepperoni of one pizza and jalapeño from the other back to back. The leftovers were somehow just as good as they were fresh, which caused me to eat leftover Pizza Hut for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and midnight snack the next day. I ordered another pizza the day after because I needed more of this. This one was nearly as good as the first, and when I had leftovers just now they were of the exact caliber of yesterday’s. I can’t stop eating it for some reason. I don’t know what’s in this pizza but it makes me want more. The sauce is truly unrivaled. If you are a sauce enthusiast when it comes to pizza, give this particular...
