Since posting the review below, I have spoken to the manager about my concerns. I am now more informed about policies and procedures. I didn’t receive anything verbally or written when I consigned which I should have. He was nice and apologetic and was kind to give me the option to unconsign if I wished. I decided to see how it all goes with sales and then decide what to do if my things don’t sell within the 4-6 weeks. I appreciate his contacting me after my post and his desire to make me comfortable with my consignment, although now knowing the terms didn’t change anything. Being informed before I consigned would have been helpful. He was appreciative for my feedback.
I didn’t like my first experience consigning but thought I would give them another chance. The terms weren’t spoken when I was there except my percentage. They didn’t tell me that if my items didn’t sell, I have to pay $1 each to get them back. So they have to go their charity. I didn’t receive a print out when I left my items. I’m not very confident my items will be logged in correctly to my account or my candlestick won’t be broken before it hits the shelf. They also don’t email a roster with everything on it so it’s confusing. I also lost 10% for some reason (apparently there is senior shopping day for 10% off which I didn’t know) on an item I just took and sold immediately and so I have to call to ask why. When I am finished with my items, I won’t return to shop or consign. The lady taking my things was rude and there was no place to set my nice coats so they fell on the floor which wasn’t a sign they would be taken care of. Then my designer coat was wadded up in a bucket. Unfortunate because it is a church...
Read moreIn November 2019, I took 4 shoes to be consigned to the Revive of Smyrna, GA. One of them was of great quality, from an American Designer (shoes 1) worn only once, another one was from and Italian Designer, worn only once inside the house. This pair and its heal were of high quality Italian leather. When I brought the shoes to Revive, the attendant of that day was very excited about the Italian leather shoes! She kept looking at it, happy to have it in their store. The size of these shoes was an average women's size. When I came to check on my account, they told me that shoes #1 were sold at $10. 45 (about that price), and that I was going to get $4.99 (or something like that), shoes # 2 were donated because they didn't sell the pair (this is the Italian leather shoes)! I got upset! What? Donated because not sold? I didn't believe it! I do believe that someone in that Revive, planned for the shoes not to be sold so that they could take it for free!! Well, to make a long story short, they also charged me $5,..( Annual fee) when the shoes were not there for a year! At the end, they told me that they owed me..., wait sit down before your hear this...12 cents! That's it!! 12 cents is the amount they wanted to give to me. I got mad and told them that if they felt that 12 cents was what they owed me, to keep that miserable 12 cents!! I told them that I wouldn't come back to that Den of thieves again, ever! Watch out! Don't give your expensive things to them! They will create a scenario to get it for free and tell you that they owe you a dime! They should be...
Read moreI shop and sell there. There's an employee there that's also a manager at the Smyrna location. She's so rude and patronizing it makes me very angry to see her. Then she always comes up with some bogus rules as to why she won't accept what you brought in. The last time she admitted to not looking at my stuff because it wasn't in a plastic bin. Also one employee will tell you one thing and another will say something else. For them to be "Christian" based they have some shady ppl working/volunteering for them. Also they do a 60/40 cut. They get 60% and u get 40% of the sell of your item and they charge you a fee. I'm stopping my business with them as soon as my items sell. Shopping wise it's ok. They want like brand new products but I'm like if it's brand new I wouldn't consign it. I've found products on the sales floor that are in worse shape and I wasn't allowed to consign. They also have favorite clientele that shop there all the time and consign there's a lot of boot licking there. Update as of 12/23/18: I was invited to speak with the real manger Scott whom was extremely attentive and interested witn my issue. He assured me he would fix it and as a sign of good faith I told him I would update my review as this experience in the store was way more pleasant. The store is also more organized and I didn't encounter the particular employee I spoke of before. Again this was an update for the Smyrna location....
