We had 4-5 different varieties of Danish specialities from this bakery and have to say our experience was rather sad at the place, not because of the pastries, but because of the customer service. We stood right at the end of the line, went through all the way till our turn came, the old couple before us had already been served, and then comes our turn. There were 3 people serving at that time and none of them were looking at us, then the short lady went to the next customers ignoring us, so my husband spoke up that we haven't been served. The lady tells us if you want to be served, go to the end of the line and stand. Which was so rude and weird because we did that and it was our turn in the line next to be served. The whole place started looking at us like we were breaking the line so we had to speak up and tell them we did join the line and come till here. So finally after some to and fro they served us. If you are doubtful if someone joined the line or not just ask, no need to ignore and then be rude. Just be straight forward. It's weird that you don't even have an idea of whose in the line when you are serving people professionally. I have lived in different countries all my life and have come across so many people, but this was so outright rude and blunt on your face that I was speechless. The old couple beside us were speechless too cause they knew we were right behind them and waiting for our turn patiently. Even if the pastries were good what's the point, you have ruined the complete experience of us visiting you to try out some Danish pastries. Thanks for that. Review completely based on personal experience. Be careful when you there next time as you can also be...
Read moreI have never eaten Danish pastries before, so I really have no comparison point in terms of authenticity, etc etc. Going solely based on flavor / pastry texture.
There's a giant counter for "to-go" orders and a bunch of seating. We ended up ordering to-go and sitting down because it's a tad confusing in terms of layout.
We ordered 4 items:
Cream puff - made with actual cream and no custard like you're usually cream puff. Also included a berry jam - maybe lingonberries. It was really good and light, albeit a tad hard to eat.
Danish waffle - similar in terms of flavor to the cream puff. Had the same cream and berry filling, but the outside was actually crispy and sugary. I preferred the puff.
Cinnamon crisp - This reminded me of the petite palmier / elephant ear cookies, cinnamon style. It's sort of like a crunchy cookie made with flaky layers of cinnamon. Good but didn't feel particularly special or danish.
Princess mocha waffle - Not very memorable, unfortunately. It was a little chewy, not particularly crunch. I'm not a huge almond flavoring person, but the mocha is good. I'd probably skip this next time around.
It's definitely a tad on the pricier side, with a lot of items costing appx $4 each. Service was decent and moved pretty...
Read moreThis place gave us the most unbelievably insulting service in our entire lives. The staff PHYSICALLY TOOK A FORK FROM MY WIFE'S HAND AS SHE WAS TAKING A BITE.
I visited this place in 2023 on a rainy day with very few people in the store. Since it was rainy, we planned to eat a pastry inside. At no point in the process did any member of the staff ask if we wanted or order to go or for there, they just asked what we wanted and gave us our order. When my wife sat down and started eating her pastry, a staff member came from behind the counter and physically took a fork from my wife's hand as she was about to take a bite and said to-go orders couldn't be eaten inside. Seeing other reviews, this doesn't seem like it was an isolated case. This goes way beyond insulting in any setting, let alone a business that serves food and has tables. If the staff is so worked up about 6 people eating inside when 90% of the business is empty, then maybe verbally tell us to-go orders can't stay. Don't go from 0 to snatching a fork from a customer. Absolutely insane. Pastries...
