Worst Easter dinner experience ever. Made reservations for our party, though they weren't that busy when we arrived. Led to our table by a young lady who hardly acknowledged it was Easter, 'follow me' she commanded. We did and were led to the most wobbly table I ever sat at in a restaurant. I was concerned the drinking glasses may roll off the table, it was that bad. About 15 minutes later another young lady and her trainer arrived to take a beverage order and the Easter menu which didn't appear anywhere on the menu, was removed from the servers pocket all wrinkled up.. But she said we can have that copy to see the specials. With these clues already I should have known this wouldn't turn out good and it didn't. But my friend and his 85 year mother looked forward to our special dinner all week. We placed to order and an hour from the time we made it, the dinner was served. My buddy tells me, 'eat that fast, it's already cold and getting colder' and he was right, we ordered the turkey platters and it was indeed all cold. You got carrots with the platter, I kid you not, I got 2 sliced carrot pieces about 1/4" thick and 1 inch around.. That was it... Served on top of a ladle of cold mashed potatoes. I managed to get ahold of the server a few minutes later, 'Does this place always serve cold mashed potatoes?' - she was nice enough to go to the kitchen and get a small serving of heated up potatoes. My friends Mom ordered the chicken off the menu, it came out on what appeared to be a small pie plate. The smallest amount of food, I have ever seen on a plate as a main meal and cold. Terrible experience. The next day I called the manager, she apologized and said she had Easter off, she wasn't there. She offered to send me an 'email' - ok, a week later, still no email, a second call to Emily, the manager, an employee takes my email again, 2 weeks later still no email. Never again, will not be back to...
Read moreI have been to Josie Kelly's for dinner a few times. I always loved the atmosphere and ambiance of the place that when it came to my daughter's 1st Holy Communion Party, Josie Kelly's came immediately to mind.
I worked with Kaylee from their Events Team who was a pleasure from the start. Kaylee was always available to me via email and in-person when I needed it. She made the process so easy from start to finish. The party was on a larger scale equivalent to a wedding, so we had a lot of moving parts. From the cake delivery, to the accommodations with my centerpiece/favor drop off, to the band, and to the Balloon Arch being set up, Kaylee's team worked with everyone to make sure all vendors were able to come in with enough time to get set up.
I loved that Kaylee provided us with her expertise on what would work best for the food and drink packages as well as the set up to keep the flow of the room.
When we walked into the room that day it was like a wedding. I had no idea how the buffet, bar, grazing tables would be set up as far as decor goes and they were beautifully done. The amount of attention to detail adding their own decor to the centerpieces I brought, everything matched perfectly. All my guests said they had no idea Josie Kelly's host events like this and were blown away with everything. The fan favorite was the Mimosa Bar!!!
I would like to also add how amazing the staff was that day. They were so engaging with everyone and friendly. I even caught the bartenders chatting it up with some of the toddlers checking out the toys they snagged from our kids table.
All my guests had nothing, but amazing things to say and I can't say enough. Run to Josie Kelly's to host your event, you will not be disappointed! Thank you Kaylee and your team for an...
Read moreOur party of 4 went to Josie Kelly’s for Easter dinner. We arrived on time for our 6:15 reservation. We waited a few minutes to be greeted, and then another couple of minutes to be seated. Totally fine! We were sat in the dining room, which was busy but not completely full. Five minutes pass, ten minutes pass, we still have not been acknowledged. Not a hey, not a head nod, nothing. At this point they moved the table beside us to make a bigger table for another party. Another ten minutes go by, and that table was not only acknowledged but their orders taken within a few minutes. All in total we waited about 25 minutes and still had no hello, let alone even drinks. We got up to leave and the gentleman who was seating people, who I assumed was the manager (he was a big, tall guy) saw us leaving. He did not approach us, I approached him and explained why we were leaving. He told me “don’t forget your bag” and said “I have to check who your server was.” No apology, and didn’t even care we were leaving. No offer to make it right. He lost out on what would have been at least a $200 check. It’s close to 7 on Easter now, and we had to search for a place that was open and had availability. (We ended up at the Deauville, which was fabulous). Not only did we leave Josie Kelly’s hungry, but inconvenienced on a holiday. This is not how you run a small business. I do not recommend this establishment.
UPDATE: Kathleen from Josie Kelly’s replied to my initial review and asked me to email her to discuss (you can see her reply below my review). I did email her, and have been waiting a week for a reply. Very consistent with my experience in the restaurant and just further validates that this restaurant does not care about...
