Frisch's Big Boy Restaurant — Restaurant in Somerset

I'm gonna start this by saying I will never patronize this location again.

Party of 4 adults and 2 children.

Adult #1: Ordered a seafood market platter. Was brought out and told it only came with 1 side. Pretty sure it came with 2 sides but whatever. Looked very underwhelming. After the check came it showed we were rang up for 2 sides. The fish was not hand breaded haddock, it was the little fish sticks they serve with the fish and chips and it was not butterfly shrimp. After complaining that he didn't get what he ordered we were informed they no longer had the haddock and only had the fillets. Then the manager informed me the menu was over 4 years old and they didn't have a lot of it anymore. We should have been made aware when ordering that this was no longer available and not just slapped together. (I actually called another location and this option isn't even on the menu there, nor was it listed online). They refused to make this right and we paid full price for a dish they no longer even serve!

Adult #2: Food was just rather nasty. I wasn't going to eat it and they happily took it off. (Spanish Omelet for those who are wondering. I was also told it didn't come with salsa when I asked for it, but later checked the menu and it did).

Adult #3: Ordered a breakfast bowl and added on a salad bar. This option is listed under the breakfast bowl for $4.99. It was rang up separately at $7 something. When inquired and shown the menu they just said they can't do that and there was nothing they could do about it. Had this been brought to our attention up front, it wouldn't have been ordered. Again, they refused to make this right as well.

Overall, this is a very poorly operated business. I just can't fathom how the owners think it's okay to have an outdated menu and serve customers hacked up versions of food they no longer offer. Like, what? Completely...

Frisch's menu is misleading, or the people who work there don't understand how to use their computer system. The menu clearly states that a customer can ADD-ON the salad bar to any entree for $5.99. Their menu has a variety of items that, according to the menu, come with anywhere from no sides to two sides. On my recent visit, I ordered the fish dinner that the menu says comes with 2 sides for $12.49. I wanted both of the sides and wanted to add-on the salad bar. The waitress said she was going to add the salad as one of my sides because it would be cheaper. That didn't really make sense, but ok. (I freely admit that at this point I should have questioned her until I fully understood what she meant.) When I looked at the bill, I was charged $12.49 for the dinner, $5.99 for the salad add-on, and $3.59 for an additional side. For the record, I got 2 sides, which the menu said the dinner I chose came with. When I questioned the bill, I was told that when a dinner comes with a side or two. The only way to add-on the salad bar was to give up a side and pay the additional $5.99. If you don't sacrifice a side that comes with your meal, then the salad bar is regular price. On what planet does this make any sense? It is straight-up deceptive. In short, you are taking away something that was included in the price of your meal and charging you more for the privilege. Just how much money have you stolen from customers with this practice, Frisch's? I haven't had this problem here or with any other...

Frisch's Restaurant is an absolute gem of a dining establishment that I was absolutely pleased with. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, which made me feel right at home. The menu is extensive, offering a variety of delicious dishes that are sure to satisfy any appetite. I particularly enjoyed the Big Boy sandwich, which was packed with flavor and generously sized. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned, and the shake was the perfect way to round out my meal. But it wasn't just the food that impressed me - the service was outstanding as well. My server was attentive and friendly, and made sure that all of my needs were taken care of. The ambiance of Frisch's was also something to note. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the decor was classic and charming. It was clear that the owners and staff take pride in their establishment and work hard to create a comfortable and inviting environment for their customers. Overall, I was thoroughly pleased with my experience at Frisch's Restaurant.
