If you’re in the area and looking for a Greek spot. You gotta check out this spot EAT GREEK! I’ve been coming here occasionally since they opened. I’ve gotten to know the owner a little who is a great guy! I’ve never left a review before for anything. But if there is one thing in this crazy world that makes me happy and want to talk about, is food… And maybe I get a little weird when I find good food…or someone other than myself or my family . Cook good food. 🤷🏻♂️ 😆 But… When I took my first bite. I closed my eyes and exhaled and got up to tell the owner I was super excited to finish eating it I hadn’t finished a whole gyro since my last one in Greece a few years ago. So I want this restaurant to succeed and stay right where it is! So I’m spreading the word. As for myself I’m a retired chef trained in mostly Mediterranean restaurants with 15 years of experience. Starting as a line cook and earning my spot as a head chef. Maybe that will make sense to anyone reading this now. Haha I just love food. And always will! I’ve traveled to many countries in Europe I’ve been to many states here in the U.S. anytime I see a gyro spot or Greek restaurant though I have to stop and try it out. I guess I’m Always Looking for that next best Gyro. This is it! Comparably as good as one you would have sitting at table in Greece 10 feet from the Agean sea. Here in Somerville you don’t get that experience. But you get a nice clean I’d say awesome atmosphere. Good service and great flavors.
Id say Eat Greek so far that I’ve tried has the BEST GYROS & LOUKOUMADES… oh what are loukoumades!? … just the best little perfectly fried, little, crispy on the outside, a bit chewy inside, golden brown Greek treat! I guess you could call them like Greek donuts. But way better than any donut you’d ever have. is the best way to describe them. You can have them a few different ways but for me. drizzled with honey from Greece. Sprinkled with a dash of cinnamon if you’re going to eat them right away.. but if you’re getting them Togo I’d definitely get the honey on the side. Everything here is Well worth the $$.But honestly what impressed me the most!!! What justifies the cost. Which honestly if you think about it. You can’t go to Subway and pay less then $25.00 dolIars anymore. Always remember you get what you pay for!! the owner takes such pride In his business and truly wants the best flavors. And I can absolutely taste the difference… this is what makes this great. He achieves this by having his provisions coming straight from the Motherland… right down to the salt is coming from Greece,… So it totally makes sense!! if you’re looking for the perfect Gyro! Along with a Perfectly sweet but not overly sweet treat! This is it. So EAT GREEK!!! Where everything is just done right! I find myself going once a week. It’s my go to now if I don’t feel like cooking and want something quick and reliable.. actually I just realized that every time I take my first bite I close my eyes and think of being in Greece! Go Try...
Read moreMy husband and I walked in for dinner after the wait elsewhere was too long. We love Greek food, and so wanted to see how this place compared to Greek Corner, Opa Yeeros and Zo. Well, it doesn't. I ordered the mixed grill dinner and my husband had the lamb chops. The gyro was unexpectedly barely seasoned, and the pork gyro more closely resembled carnitas, with strips of bare rubbery fat amidst shreds/flakes of tiny pieces of greasy pork. The chicken was also missing seasoning (how can I go to a Greek restaurant and have no hint of oregano anywhere???) and was similarly in tiny grease-translucent shreds. The portion was huge, but the food wasn't even tasty enough to want to take home the large remainder. I would have loved to ask for salt, or hot sauce, or something to salvage the taste, but no one checked on us once food had been dropped off, and the music was so loud, the waitstaff couldn't seem to hear us when we said "excuse me!" as they passed our table. Took awhile, but we were finally able to flag down someone to pay our bill and escape. And seriously, for a new restaurant, why are their menus already worn out and sticky??? Not impressed at all. If you want Greek food that actually has any flavor of authenticity, there are several better choices in the area. This option sits far...
Read moreI came to Davis Square looking for a place to get a good drink. I found a couple locals and then told me to go to Rosebud so I ventured on that way and acquired spam on the ways here. A little side quest. Anywho back to the point I was lost (again) and I found a worker who I didnt know at the time. But I found later on that their name is Kenzie. Kenzie showed me that Rosebud was right over. Although I asked if Eat Greek had any mocktails. Since I was more looking for that. She assured me the truth and said there was none. She did say the door next door had mocktails. I was curious about this restaurant more since she said its good. She asked if I was hungry although I already ate earlier on. So I asked out of curiosity. “What is your favorite drink here” She replied The orange juice is very good” She went on to explain theres more drinks to chose from. So I ended up becoming intrigued. I ended up buying the lemon, orange, and apple juice. Kenzie was forever kind and welcoming to this establishment. I did not feel out of place. I ended mixing the lime and orange juice together to get a mixture blend that was like a tropical forest in my mouth. I would like the manager to give props to Kenzie for urging us to go in, for it did...
