Step into a culinary journey to Greece right in the heart of Davis Square, where this hidden gem of a restaurant awaits. From the moment you enter, the ambiance whisks you away to the sun-drenched shores of the Mediterranean.Let's dive into the main event: the food. Each dish embodies the essence of freshness and flavor, evident in every tantalizing bite. Picture the chicken gyro plate – a harmonious blend of tender, succulent chicken, thinly sliced onions, and a side of rice pilaf that's nothing short of perfection. And the salad Crisp, refreshing, and elevated by a homemade dressing that's a taste revelation. The spanakopita, with its flaky layers of phyllo pastry embracing a rich filling of spinach and feta cheese, is a bite of pure bliss. Now, onto the beverages. Prepare to be wowed by the "Mastiqua cucumber" drink – a crisp, cool concoction bursting with flavor, perfectly complementing the meal. It's a must-try for anyone seeking the full Greek experience. And then, dessert. Oh, dessert. The baklava, a masterpiece of flaky pastry and pistachios, is a testament to culinary artistry. The loukoumades, those golden orbs of dough, crisp on the outside and irresistibly fluffy inside, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon, are simply divine. The galaktopureko – a heavenly creation that defies description, leaving you speechless with its decadence.Yet, what truly sets this place apart is the warm hospitality. Marios and his mother curate an atmosphere that's inviting, genuine, and utterly immersive. It's not merely a meal; it's a voyage to Greece, right from the comfort of your table. In summary, if you're craving an unforgettable dining escapade that tantalizes the senses and transports you to distant shores, look no further than this Greek haven in Davis Square. It's a flawless 10 out of 10, and then some. Oh, and let's not forget the homemade tzatziki and mustard sauce – the perfect finishing touch to an already extraordinary dining experience, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to excellence that define this...

We didn’t eat at this place , so I won’t comment on the food but we had a bad experience at this joint. We had a $25 gift certificate which was issued by restaurant.com and we had chosen Greek ops Yeeros to redeem it. When we went there and showed them the certificate. They said that the sum would be deducted from the final bill. Their menu isn’t extensive at this time.. We ordered for about $29 dollars. We were going to pay the difference. That’s when they chose to tell us that we have to order for at least $50 dollars to use the certificate. We we’re just 2 people and their menu didn’t have enough variety to order for that sum. No where on the certificate did it mention that we had to order for at least $50 dollars but they said that’s how it has been since the last 3 years. Don’t know if that is true. We cancelled our order and came back. Not going back to that place ever. The Dimitri and his associate were both were mean while the cashier was very polite and...

EUREKA! I've been looking for real gyros for a while. So many places buy pre-made "loaves" of chopped meat and let it stew on their steam table after slicing it. The place is different -- they make their own gyro cones and slice the meat off fresh, giving that inimitable meat-crust flavor, which is really the whole point. To put my review in context: we had the pork gyros, which had a lot of meat, and good amounts of tzatziki and onions. Next time, I think I'll ask for more tzatziki and onions. They normally serve french fries in the pita (pretty common in Greece), but I asked for mine on the side, because it's not to my taste. They kindly gave us loukoumades for dessert, one with honey and cinnamon and one with Nutella. Delicious and fresh, though next time I'll go for just honey. Opa is under new ownership as of February 2024, so ignore any older reviews. The new family seem dedicated to high quality genuine gyros.

EDIT: new ownership! I think the changes have been good. More attention to detail with the food. Larger portion sizes accompanied by marginal price increase. That second part was probably inevitable though. They are receptive to feedback and want to know what they can do better. Now that is what I like to hear! Regardless, no complaints from me. I am not a professional at cooking Greek food. Only at eating it. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Lamb gyro always hits the spot. They make them fast and don’t keep you waiting, so good food if you’re on lunch break. Little patio outside with umbrellas for seating. They have a good little operation here. Happy to continue supporting.
