Thai Hut Restaurant — Restaurant in Somerville

I don’t usually post reviews but this experience was so terrible that I had to post about this whole ordeal. This was the absolute worst experience. I ordered online and when an hour past, and we called the restaurant. The person told me that the restaurant was so busy and could not give me an estimated time update. I was then told by the person on the phone to be patient. And another hour has past and when I tried calling the restaurant again, the phones went straight to a disconnected tone. Then finally, then the delivery guy called, he didn’t even get out of the car. I waited outside and he was just sitting in his car staring at his phone. One of the cheapest Thai food options in the neighborhood with decent quality. Found this place on GH and got a delivery order. Overall, most of the menus I tried were bland and under-seasoned. The crispy pad Thai and the fried calamari were uninteresting, and the Thai spring rolls were also underwhelming. Basil fried rice with beef was the most flavorful dish, but it was still lacking some spice. Sweet chili sauce on the side definitely helped, but it would’ve been better if more options for sauce were offered. I ordered take out from here after a massive craving for Thai food during this COVID situation. 1) The food was delivered very promptly and piping hot! Keep in mind I live pretty close to them. 2) The order was fast and packaged up correctly. 3) I really enjoyed everything I got: crab rangoon, scallion pancakes, soft shell crab, pad thai, spicy beef salad. 4) My only complaint is that the pad thai was on the salty side and lacked a sweetness that most pad thai dishes have!
