Veggie Crust - Somerville — Restaurant in Somerville

March 29 (Saturday), 2025. We came here for lunch to execute our previous night's unfulfilled desire/plan to eat gluten free Indian flavour pizza. And we did exactly that by ordering a gluten-free 10'' crust paneer tikka masala pizza, with extra topping of capsicum/bell pepper. I also requested the waiter to "go generous with the tikka sauce and paneer pieces" and asked her to count it as an extra topping if needed (the menu doesn't have paneer or sauce in it's list of available extra toppings). I am sure she graciously obliged as the pizza that arrived at our table was so rich in the sauce/gravy and the paneer cubes. It smelled so good, tasted even better, and is arguably the best Indian flavoured pizza I have eaten. The paneer had a good burn/char in it's edges and was still soft and moist. I guess paneer is a legitimate pizza topping option. I couldn't really distinguish the gluten-free crust, it felt normal.

I would've loved it even without the (mozarella?) cheese, but then, it would've been a stretch to call it a pizza. The price was around $23 (they counted only the bell pepper as extra topping) and it was worth it, my gluten-free friend pounced on the final unclaimed slice! And I would have...

Without question or doubt, the best pizza I have ever had so far. The restaurant opened a while ago and we only visited it yesterday. Let me document my experience:

The pizza itself: The chef is a miracle worker that can make vegan mozzarella cheese taste as delicious as dairy cheese. Amazing crust that I think they make fresh on the spot. Flavors - can you believe there is a 'Pav Bhaji' pizza that indeed tastes like Pav Bhaji? And simultaneously like pizza too. Then there was the garden veggie pizza that too was full of flavors. I will try others the next time.

Animal friendly: They can make most pizzas vegan (yeah, even 'cheese'), and you won't be able to tell the difference. The restaurant displays messages that encourage kindness to animals. I liked the one that said "Habits are not need. Go vegan."

Staff: Very polite and friendly.

Environment: Clean and tidy. Looking at several other casual dining restaurants that are often untidy, cleanliness matters. Good lighting. Small place, but they have...

Feedback from someone who has ordered atleast 20+ times in the last one year from them (loyal pizza customer).

1. Food Quality: When they deliver a pizza with full attention, it's amazing. When they don't, it may come with a hair in the pizza bread or a wrong order (in my case, veggie 'manchurian' pizza was replaced with veggie pizza, I understand it happens!).

2. Leadership team: Positive: When I would request a replacement of topping, they would. Bad experiences: After I reported the last two bad experiences (a hair in pizza bread and wrong order delivered), they refused my order that I placed 2 months after my last order! The reason I was told is that I had reported the two last bad experiences, so instead of correcting or apologizing, they chose to not deliver pizza in future to this customer!

As a loyal and a year long customer, I felt horrible today at the owner's response. Never expected such behavior from a professional...
