Dave's Hot Chicken — Restaurant in South Bend

Food was absolutely amazing!!! I ordered online through the website on my phone. I'll be installing the app to make it even quicker as I WILL be a regular here. I ordered the 2 sliders and fries.. One mild, one medium heat levels. Medium was perfect for me I think. Ordering was easy and fast I paid 13.99 for the meal and it was worth EVERY penny when they say "Sliders" no sirs they mean SANDWICH.. So much food for the money. They said 11:29 am I walked in at exactly that time and it was already waiting for me. They had music jamming out, the overall look of the place was super cool. I walked up to the counter and the lady saw me and Instantly came up to greet me she was friendly and polite. I told her I had an online order and my name and within 30 seconds it was in my hand.. I waited till I got home to open it so it sat in the takeout container and sealed in a plastic bag for the 10 minute drive. When I opened it when I got home visually it was perfect, the smell was amazing. The biggest surprise was that after that ten minute drive of them being sealed up like that the fries were still perfectly fresh and crispy?!?! I don't know what kind of wizardry they have going on there but that was a super pleasant shock!! Taste off the charts on all aspects of the food they gave me plenty of napkins and tons of extra Dave's sauce which is basically spicy mayo and even extra pickles on the side as well!! So I’ll start by saying our two first trips here were great. Ordering at the restaurant to go. Spice was on point. Everything was solid. Tonight we ordered online and everything was not so great. First, my husband and I love spicy food. Nothing in IN is spicy enough coming from Ca and Tx. Tonight we ordered online. We each got one slider and one tender. I ordered both tenders w/no bread bc we don’t love the plain white bread slices. We each ended up with no slider and a tender w/bread. So that was disappointing but not a huge deal. We normally get hot for me and extra hot for him. Which in the past were perfect and definitely not too spicy in the least. But he chose reaper and extra hot, and I went extra hot and hot. Everything was basically the same spice level and it was all insanely hot compared to what we’ve ordered before. The extra hot and hot were so spicy I couldn’t eat them. There was no difference between the two. The spice level was much different this time than when we’ve been there before. Okay, Dave's Hot Chicken, you might just have a new number one fan! My cousin brought us here, absolutely raving about it, and now I completely see why. In fact, I loved it so much that I came back the very next day to try what she had. On my first visit, I went for the sliders, and they were absolutely amazing. I'm not even a fan of coleslaw usually, but the slaw on those sliders was perfectly paired – it just worked! I opted for the medium heat, which was spot on; it had a great kick without being overwhelmingly spicy. My second trip was for the tenders, and wow, they were HUGE and cooked to perfection. Crispy, juicy, everything you want. And let's not forget the Lucky Charms shake – seriously, that thing was incredible. But the real MVP? Dave's Sauce. Honestly, it might be the best sauce I've ever dipped spicy chicken in, like, ever. It just elevates everything. ALSO, Don’t forget the honey, pairs excellent with Dave’s sauce.
