Date - 8th March 2025 Franchise Location - Kendall Park
It brings me great sadness to inform both potential customers and the management about a very unpleasant experience at Bikanerwala's Kendall Park location. I've been a customer of this branch for a few years and it was a good location to get decent Indian vegetarian (without egg) food at reasonable prices.
However, on March 8th 2025, around 7 PM I placed a takeout order for a Paneer Kathi Roll. I was waiting by the kitchen counter for the token call and collect my order. I noticed the person there use Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise after applying a coating of the green chutney on the roti. I was aghast and immediately asked him to give me the Mayonnaise bottle and told him this contained EGGS. I immediately called the Manager, who is the lady often at the counter and told her that the cook applied mayonnaise with eggs (as an ingredient) in a place that sells eggless vegetarian food.
The Manager tried to deflect the conversation, lying that this was an unopened jar (the jar was already in use and mayonnaise applied on my panner kati roll) and quickly took it out of my hands and went and hid it. There were many customers who were also looking shocked. I felt really appalled because this is a place frequented by a lot of vegetarians who don't eat eggs either out of preference or religious reasons. I even waited to see if the manager would apologise or come clean with the mistake, but neither was an apology issued, neither did she stress that they will take care to not do this. There was a quick reaction to avoid any kind of confrontation and bury the issue.
I unfortunately dumped the kathi roll that was given and I only have the receipt to show. I do not know if the Mayonnaise is used in multiple other products to make, for example, the panner sabji creamy, etc. This certainly is an eye opening incident and a way for me to learn to verify, even at the cost of awkwardness or discomfort, certain places I visit (even when declared vegetarians) to know what actually goes...
Read more2-star only for the taste of food served [taste is good], however for the customer service and order fulfillment part i would rate zero. The person attending and taking order [i guess her name is Manju, coz that is what was printed on my receipt] is very, very mean and least bothered for customers giving them small $ orders i.e. not giving them enough business $$$ [as per the server who took my order]. It is the third time i had to wait for 25mins for a simple plate of samosa. This 3rd incident took place just last week on Friday-07/02 [in case if the owner/franchise manager of this location is taking note of this and kindly check your camera recording], i placed an order for 1 plate samosa, made the payment and i was waiting for about 25-30min [at their Franklin Park store location] for the lady to fulfill my order placed. To my surprise she not only did start taking & fulfilling the orders for folks who entered this store after me, but also even after completing my pick-up order [ready order was hidden somewhere behind their display counters] she did not have courtesy to atleast call out my order number and announce that its ready to be picked-up. Instead, i had to go to the counter and ask her about the status of my order. 2nd Incident [this time again the same lady starts taking & fulfilling orders for customers entering after me] - after waiting for 25mins i went and reminded her that i have not received by pick-up order. She then starts preparing my order. Overall, very sour and bad experience at their instore facility. Servers are neglectful towards the customer who give...
