Two weeks ago my cousin and i booked a table at this restaurant at 7pm for dinner. We got their 6:50 and we got our tables. Than we were ready to order our order. so we called the lady that worked in the front desk. She took our orders. Our order was 5 thaali's. The lady told us that it will take some time too make. So my cousins and I waited. 30 mintues passed by and came 40 minutes. we called the lady again and told her that our 5 thaali's hasn't came yet. She said "you guys have to wait because its cooking in the kitchen". So my cousins and I waited. But than there was two families that came after us and they were waiting outside. The lady that was in the front desk took them inside to their tables. They started ordering their food. 40 mintues came to 50 mintues so we called the lady and she said "you will guys have to wait". So we waited another 30 mintues. But than, the lady went two the two tables started asking for their orders. They're food came first in 30 mintues before ours did. On the other hand my cousins and I waited 1 hour with no food on our table. Than, it was 8:00pm. We called the lady and her response was that "they are family members so we took them first in". We even told here that we came before they did and made an reservation. But she kept saying "they are family members so took them in first". So my cousins and I waited another 15 mintues and than it was 8:15 only thing that came was chaas and khichdi, papdi no lot and 1 plate came.but, other 5 plates didnt come. We even talked to another kaka in the restaurant. He said "it takes time making".the papdi no lot was cold.So than, my cousins ans I waited another 5 minutes till 8:20 and we were super hungry and still no THAALI'S came to our tables. And so my cousins and i finally decided to leave at 8:30 without food. we told the lady we are leaving and her response to that was"okay fine" so we left. In conclusion, they took their family members first and served them in 30 mintues. And had us waited 1 hour. If you guys wanted to take your family members first why dont you keep the restaurant for your family members and not for the public. Literally...
Read moreHorrible service and below average food. Hugely disappointed. Please dont be fooled by the fake reviews listed here. We drove all the way from philly and had booked a reservation in advance, however I would never came back or again neither would recommend this restaurant to anyone in my family or friends. Here was our experience today- We ordered 2 thalis, we were the only customers in the restaurant for dinner service on Friday and they took 25 minutes to bring out the thalis. Now if the service would have being good or the food would have being superb we would have forgotten about the wait time, unfortunately this was just the beginning. Service is horrible( repeating again) for an unlimited thali restaurant. They dont ask if you need anything, we had to keep calling them to bring a roti or vegetable or anything else that is needed and each time it took 10 minutes from them to bring the food out. After asking twice, we gave up as they clearly donot want you to serve beyond what they provide the 1 time. They served khichdi n rice along with the thali on the first serving, so by the time you eat that as your last course the food got really cold! They price $21.99 for 1 thali, and donot have the decenecy or pride to serve thier food in a real thali/steel/copper/utensil , $21.99 thali is served in plastic/aluminuim coated disposable plate with holes which you can buy in patel brothers -it makes it difficult to eat from and gives a poor thali experience. I seriously havent seen any gujarati or kathiyawadi restaurant in the world who would not serve their food in a proper thali. What a shame of them to use the term kathiyawadi in their business name. Decor was good, but if you dont care for your customer experience i dont know what are you...
Read moreThe owner and staff run hell of a show at Khatiyawadi Village. Customer Service and food quality blew my mind today. I saw that they give undivided attention to each and every customer there. You request them to change something they immediately do that. people have been complaining about prices. guys it's recession time the prices are up everywhere. what are we crying for look at the quality as well. what I care the most is I enjoyed the most food and ambience. I had a great time speaking to the owner for few minutes in the end. He was surprised I told them the owners at Khatiyawadi Kitchen themselves not workers Ravan ni lanka puri dhoobi jase atlu badu abhimaan che eloka ney very rude behavior and failed to listen to me gave me hard vada pav bread instead of soft pav. I told politely twice failed to listen to me. Anyways back to Khatiyawadi Village all of the dishes you try here are delicious. Owner is welcoming and accomodating and will speak to you with eye contact not like he is there to grab your money of you. His hard work getting paid off. This will be my new GO TO restaurant. The manager warmly welcomed in phone and said in gujurati tame avo restaurant then take care of you. That already gave me positive vibes about Khatiyawadi Village. Always keep up the fantastic work. Guys try their food out. It's close to VIP service. 100** if there was an option here. Jai Shree Krishna...
