There is no comparison!!!! When I tell you that this spot serves THE BEST Jamaican food I’ve EVER tasted, trust me…it is! I’ve been to Jamaican restaurants in New Orleans, Houston, Austin, Brooklyn, Long Island and a few more. None of the restaurants I have visited can come close to the quality and taste of the food at Calabash Caribbean Grill. I traveled from Houston to South Carolina to witness my brilliant niece graduate from the Army Military School. After meeting up with my family, we searched for a restaurant and after reading reviews, we opted for this restaurant. I ordered the small two meat plate (jerk chicken and oxtails) with yams instead of cabbage. Maaaaaaannnnn let me tell you that EVERY bite I took was so satisfying to my palate. The oxtails in brown sauce was so delectable and the meat was nearly falling off the bone. The chicken was cooked and seasoned perfectly AND THE RICE oooooooohhh I’m salivating just thinking about it, lol. Yes, all of the above was already worth 5-stars to me. However, when I throw in the BEST customer service, excellent price point, and cleanliness of the inner and exterior building, I wish I could score them a 10!!! I ordered a small plate, got full, and I had so much food left over for dinner. AND the juices are AMAZING!!!! I purchased the ginger pineapple juice made in-house and I instantly fell in love, lol. It was so good that I purchased another one and a lemonade to take back to my hotel room along with a couple of other Caribbean items. Hey! If you’re ever in the Columbus, South Carolina area, please stop by this authentic Jamaican food restaurant, you won’t regret it. Shout out to the woman that truly made our outing epic…thank you RENEE!!!!

So I drive lyft on the side. And in k e day I had picked up like 3 people either going to or coming from this spot. So me being a foodie.. it definitely sparked my Interest. So this weekend I had time so I pulled up. I decided to get the jerk chicken sandwich. And I must say it was tasty. They had a decent selection on the menu. But he main thing I wanted I got. I ket 2ic get a taste and she thought it was good also. And she is very finicky. I cant say how good other things would be. To be honest I may not go there for anything other than the sandwhich. The seating is very limited. But they also have a small selection of jamaican drinks and dry foods you can buy. It's a small place. Gave me that hole in the wall vibe.. which I like. Nothing bad to say about the place. But nothing to say that would make me brag about it either. But I did like the jerk chicken sandwhich

So I got 2 plates the first one was the curry chicken with macaroni and cheese, plantains oxtail and rice and peas and for the second one it was jerk chicken macaroni and cheese oxtail and rice and peas. The portions were okay and as for the food the curry chicken was very tinder and had potato and carrot I really enjoyed it and it was my first time having curry chicken. The macaroni and cheese could have been better on both plates it didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked and all though it had cheese it didn't have that cheese pull that you want, the oxtail were ok too they had more fat than meat and you only got 4 if that the rice and peas were really good and the plantains. The only thing that was different on the second plate was the jerk chicken and it was tinder and I really enjoyed it too for both plates I paid $48.66 I would still recommend.

Worth the wait! I ordered 30 mins in advance for my food and ordered through their website. It wasn’t ready when I got there since their machine didn’t print out my order but it was in their computer system I was waiting for them to cook the jerk shrimp fresh. No biggie , I don’t like giving small family businesses a hard time. I understood! The guy in the front was so friendly ! My fiancé is ADDICTED to their fruit punch!!! So goood better than koolaid or any store bought fruit punch! I wasn’t too much of a fan of the sweet potato bread at first but it grew on me . It’s a healthy tasty sweet.

Okay now for the food ! It was BUSSIN!!! I mean everything was good . I’ve never had jerk shrimp or chicken taste like that and I only sampled it from my fiancé’s plate! He didn’t have anything left on his plates except some fries. Beef patty had a nice kick and tasty ! My oxtails were bomb b and my curry chicken was amazing . Everything was good . The macaroni I had was honestly better than other macaronis I had from some other Carribeans hell soul food restaurants . I’m only giving it 4 star bc of my wait but I understand ! Technology is weird ! Will...

Where can I start the ladies that work there have no expression or emotions towards customers spending their hard earn money they give dirty looks and barely want to speak. The restaurant it's self is clean and smells yummy but the food on the other hand I didn't taste one Caribbean flavor in the oxtails at all the rice was mushy and the jerk chicken I had to use my own jerk spice to fix the flavor chicken was well grilled just not flavorful to be called jerk chicken the cabbage is gross the only veggie I ever use In my cabbage is carrot and peppers juilena style of course so they get no stars if your gonna cook Caribbean food please be Caribbean and know how to cook. I will not be returning yall suck this is not slander only my opinion of where I spent $49.00 on a lunch not worth it oh before I sign off they have jerk chicken patties which are more seasoned than their jerk chicken itself thanks for allowing me to give my honest opinion and review I truly hope this help others to save money and not waste for no flavors but this is South Carolina which has nothing but mustard...
