If you value your health, DO NOT eat at this place. My wife and I stopped in today at around 11:30a, after visiting the flea market. HUGE mistake. I had a burger and fries, my wife got sausage, hash browns, and eggs over easy. My meal, the burger was meh at best, and after a few bites I began to notice a bitter taste that was very unpleasant. At that same time I noticed my wife picking out the browned parts of her hash browns (which are usually the best part!) and pushing them aside. I asked what was wrong and she also stated that she was tasting a bitter taste. Her sausage was the same way, and on top of that, looked like two (extremely thin) hockey pucks. They were almost totally black, and just looked nasty. On top of all of that, the prices were absolutely NUTS! For those two meals and two drinks, it came to $40+! 😳 We could have had a better tasting meal at a fast food joint for WAY less. I actually wasn't planning on posting a review since I didn't feel like they were even worth the effort, however, my wife and I both are now very sick with stomach issues as well as a low grade fever for me. My wife believes the bitter taste of the food could have come from them not cleaning the grill, but I'm wondering if they cleaned it but didn't rinse the cleaner off properly. I really don't know, all I know is that if you value your health (and your wallet) you should definitely...
Read moreI am really dissapointed in this place. My family and I use to come here often, especially on the weekends and the food was pretty good. Our visit a few days ago was pretty bad. Our waitress did a decent job, but the food was not as good as it use to be (the pancakes tasted like straight flour, the gravy on top of our eggs had gone sort of cold, the potatoes were under done, etc and even the guy behind us had his order come out wrong 3 times before they got it right for him) and we learned that now they do not offer discounts for military veterans anymore unless they are in uniform because they have a new owner (which we were told all of this by our waitress). It seems to me that they no longer support veterans and I can only imagine how much their business will go down because of all of the veterans that have chosen to become truck drivers that would stop in there and get that discount that will no longer get it. I don't support/frequent restaurants that do not support veterans, so we will...
Read moreA little pricey and hard to get to, this restaurant within a truck stop has a nice interior and a decent menu selection.
It costs about 40% more than Waffle House by my estimation for an equivalent meal. I had the traditional breakfast (pictures below) of scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, and toast for $12.69. It was all as one should expect except for the bacon which was a bit undercooked and all gnarled up. I have no idea how they achieved this. May I suggest cooking bacon on a pan in the oven?
The service was nearly non-existent which is unacceptable for an empty restaurant (see pictures). After the food was dropped off, I didn't see or hear from her again until I was walking out the door. I had to flag down another waitress who rang me up and refilled my water glass.
There are quite a few other food options at this exit and I recommend you choose one of them instead. It's now clear to me that the empty place was an...
