DeRoMa's Pizzeria — Restaurant in South Carolina

I went in a 7 pm on a Friday to order take-out. They were busy with an expected 30 minute wait and up to an hour for delivery, My order was ready in about 20 minutes - and as I waited I observed the people taking orders at the counter and over the phone being friendly, helpful, and professional. I ordered a large pepperoni pizza, 20 buffalo wings with ranch, and a meatball sub. It was $45. I immediately took it back to our room, a 4 minute trip. It smelled wonderful.

Here is where it went bad. The pizza was REALLY dry and had almost zero seasoning - the sauce was blah. If not for the pepperoni, it would have been like eating cheese and tomato paste on a bread-like crust. The hot wings would have been good if they had had some sauce on them, but these were dry and not spicy at all. The ranch was actually Newman's Own salad dressing packets, not a dip. The meatball sub was mainly bread, and it was also dry and basically flavorless.

To sum up the food, I have two grown boys and 1/2 of the food is remaining. Sad, sad, sad.

Since the service was excellent, I would try them again as an eat-in experience where they would have the opportunity to fix things. I would never order take-out again, Friday night...

After receiving our delivery we found no chips with the sandwich, no dressings for the salads and no "to-go" utensils for our "to-go" order. We made a quick phone call as the driver told us to do, to request these needed items be brought back to our office. We don't get very long to eat lunch, since we are at work so with that being said, not bringing essential items with the order is a big issue. When speaking with the young girl who answered the phone she was very "matter of fact" and just down right rude and even hung up on one of my colleagues! Then when we called back and asked for the manager the same girl said she was the manager's daughter and that they were not there and was ultimately shouting and continuing to be rude. We as a company will never order from Deroma's again due to their lack of customer service skills and their failure to respectfully apologize and make their mistakes right after the fact. I grew up eating pizza here as a child so I told my kids a couple of times about this place. I went in the other day hoping to order slices, like I used to order years ago. But was told that they don't sell by slices anymore. After checking the menu I decided to order 3 kids pizzas. The girl that took my order said the kids pizzas are only for kids as if I was ordering them for myself. I had one child with me and the other two waited in the car. I thought that was very awkward for her to point that out and I didn't like that at all. The girl spoke when I walked in but everyone else just seemed like they had an attitude. When she gave me my food she sat it on the counter and said here you go. No thank you or anything for spending 20 bucks on 3 kids pizzas. That was probably the most uncomfortable I ever felt after ordering food. I gave 2 stars because pizza was ok but very greasy. I would never go there again.
