First off I'm going to say that this restaurant is a little more on the pricier side. But it is 100% absolutely worth it. The food is Simply Amazing. The atmosphere is relaxed but social and completely inviting. None of the people who work there that we came in contact with between the hostess, the bar, numerous water people, servers anyone cleaning was in any way rude or disrespectful they were all very kind welcoming and they gave above the bar service that is hard to find nowadays. It's nice to get away and be in a restaurant that is not full of screaming crazy children or obnoxious families. ( That's not to say children and families are not welcome there, its kust that they wrre well behaved and respectful!!!) It was the type of restaurant that I have not been in years and years and years where you just want to go and you want to sit down and you just want to savor your food and have deep conversations and enjoy some drinks nice and slowly and not necessarily leave quickly. It is really clean really well cared for and the staff has been trained impeccably. It is worth every single penny that we spent there for my husband and I to get away and enjoy some time together away from our five children and just be with each other. We went here on November 10th which was the Marine Corps birthday. My husband's a marine and they did have written Billboards wishing the Marines happy birthday so that's extra credit in my opinion. The service is quick efficient and they truly truly care if you are happy and satisfied. The waiters tell you the specials they tell you what kind of food it is they tell you how it's made they give you all the details it's an incredible service. They are very informed and take their job seriously. I usually get so many pictures of places but we were just so into this incredible meal that I didn't even get pictures of everything we got. I got the braised beef ribs and he got a cowboy cut steak. We also had a carmel yellow cake with ice cream that was absolutely fabulous.
The food was real high quality meals that were not fried food you didn't feel like you were eating something that was unhealthy for you. It felt like you were eating home cooked meals made by a Top Chef
We definitely ate too much and do not regret it at all and will be making this a regular place for us.
There is a large crowd and the parking is a little bit tight because it is a very popular place, but it is popular for a really good reason. (The parking lot is huge, just a lit of cars!)When I saw the parking lot so full I was like maybe we should go somewhere else even though we had a reservation but I'm really happy that we chose not to because it was so worth it I don't think that there is a single bad thing that I can say...

Read moreA Culinary Fairytale at Frank’s Outback – Where Magic Meets the Menu
Stop everything you’re doing—drop the fork, cancel your reservations elsewhere, and RUN (don’t walk) to Frank’s Outback in Pawleys Island. This wasn’t just a dinner… this was a transcendental experience wrapped in oak trees, kissed by candlelight, and blessed by the flavor gods themselves.
Let’s talk about Frank—our server, our guide, our spirit animal for the evening. Charming, knowledgeable, and smoother than a well-aged bourbon, Frank turned every course into a story and every sip of wine into a celebration. If service was an Olympic sport, Frank’s taking gold and high-fiving Gordon Ramsay on the way to the podium.
Now the food. THE FOOD. We started with the tuna nachos and fried okra, which arrived like edible artwork. The tuna nachos were a divine fusion of crisp, spice, and umami that made us both do a double-take and say, “Is this even legal?” The fried okra? Let’s just say if your grandma’s okra and Michelin stars had a baby, this would be it.
For the entrées, we surrendered ourselves to the sea bass and the pork chop, and I swear angels sang. The sea bass was light, flaky perfection with layers of flavor that had us checking under the table for a hidden chef from heaven. The pork chop? Juicy, rich, and so tender it practically made us emotional.
A bottle of wine later, we were floating—and somehow the bill came to just around $130 for two. For this kind of quality? A steal. An absolute steal. I would've paid more just for the ambiance alone. Dining outside beneath twinkling lights, surrounded by trees and laughter—it was like being whisked away to a secret garden reserved for the chosen few.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better… they brought out the 14-layer caramel cake. I won’t lie to you—we cried. Happy tears. It’s not just “to die for.” It’s the cake you’ll see in your dreams, the dessert you’ll measure all others against for the rest of your life. This cake deserves its own monument.
Final verdict: 47 out of 10. Frank’s Outback isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a love letter to good food, great people, and unforgettable evenings. We’ll be talking about this meal for years. Go. Immediately....
