So, my husband and I visited this place during our visit in Columbia "We saw it in the distance of passing by" and thought it would be a decent place to get something for breakfast. When we arrived the waitress took our order which my husband had pankcakes, eggs scrabbled hard with cheese "Turkey sausage patties". I odered the "build your own omelet" which I requested an egg white omelet with onions, spinach, mushrooms & green peppers comes with grits & I requested Turkey sausage patties also. Ok so, the waitress came back to our table 5 mins later stating they don't have Turkey sausage but, they have chicken sausage patties. Husband & I both says: ok, we will try it.. BAD IDEA!! As 10-15 mins passed we saw the waitress bringing food out to two other tables whom they arrived well after my husband and I. Finally, we receive our food; right from the start they got my order wrong, I was given regular egg omelet which I sent it back with her. My husband's pankcakes looked like waffles, they appeared to be really dry, thick, & stiff. Both our "Chicken sausage patties" were hard & dry. The waitress then brought my now egg white omelet, the inside was watery and the eggs wasn't cooked fully inside. We made the waitress aware of all the said concerns and dissatisfaction attempt to eat the food. She immediately apologized and said she would talk to the manager "Robert A." He comes to our table with this lame intro of what the waitress brought to his attention regarding our dissatisfaction of the food. He had the nerve to say to us: that he wish we would've said something sooner, We looked at him in dismay like (DO YOU NOT SEE THE FOOD ID STILL ON THE PLATES, HELLO!) so called mgr. If you want unsatisfied customers to return you should show your genuine concern. We would've probably thought about returning had you accommodated us being the oder was wrong and the food wasn't prepared as it should have. Robert A. (mgr) WE WILL NOT RETURN NOR WILL WE RECOMMEND TO ANYONE!! We only give one star because the only thing that was tasty was the grits and orange juice. Yet, we will always leave a tip no...
Read moreYesterday I stopped by Lizard’s Thicket for dinner and decided to try their “Famous Salad with Chicken”. Unfortunately, it was very disappointing.
Their menu description of the salad: Large tossed salad with a baked or fried chicken breast, carrots, red cabbage, and tomatoes, all on a bit of crisp lettuce.
For $12+, I expected a better quality salad (the lettuce wasn’t fresh and some pieces were already starting to brown) and a reasonable portion of chicken, but what I received was underwhelming… and the chicken was cold. (Picture attached for reference.) I was expecting a freshly baked chicken breast or at least a warm chicken breast and not one that was dry, cold and appeared to be leftover from the day before.
I’ve visited this location several times in the past, but as of late I have noticed a steady decline not only in food quality but also in customer service and wait times. Considering how long I waited for this salad to be prepared, the end result was highly disappointing and not worth the price.
This used to be a go-to spot for breakfast and dinner. I will be seeking other options...
Read moreWe were quickly greeted and staff was nice. I ordered the small plate breakfast with chicken sausage and biscuits and apples with a side of sausage gravy. I assumed sausage gravy had seasoning but I was wrong. It's white gravy that has the pepper. The chicken sausage patty was overcooked, hard on the outside and needing to be cut with a knife & chewed up. The spiced apples tasted good but had skins on, so just realized that when ordering. My husband had the chicken fried steak meal. His toast was not buttered as he was informed it would be when he asked and his food was warm not hot unless you consider the pepper in his gravy according to his taste. His chicken fried steak was hot because they made it fresh after accidentally giving him 2 slices of chicken sausage. He felt other than the chicken fried steak the food was bland. I doubt we will go again. Not because of the staff but because of the food. If it was a leisurely breakfast and we didn't have a place to go right after we may have asked them to make it right and recook things. We did not have that luxury...
