Wifey and I decided to try this place out for date night. This was our first visit, so we weren't entirely sure what to expect. However, since past reviews were mostly positive, we felt pretty good about it. We arrived right around 9 pm on a Friday night, which is a very busy time for this spot. The place was packed, which is not only great for business, but made for a lively and enjoyable atmosphere as well. There were several parties waiting ahead of us, so after giving the hostess our name, we had to wait about 35 to 40 minutes before getting a table. Fortunately, there is ample seating available in the waiting area, so we sat comfortably as we patiently waited for a table. Once our table was ready and we were finally seated, the friendly server immediately came over to take our drink orders. Our booth was comfortable, as was the temperature in the restaurant (wasn't chilly or too warm). After we got our drinks, the server took our meal orders and said she'd be back with rolls. She came back with rolls several minutes later...but they were for another table of guests that were already enjoying their meal. She finally came back with our rolls about 5 or so minutes after that, at which point she apologized for forgetting to bring us our (yummy, totally worth the wait😋) rolls earlier. At that point, it was only about another 5 to 10 minutes before she finally brought out our meals. The food was delicious. Everything was cooked spot on. Despite the lengthy wait (which is to be expected at a popular restaurant on a busy night) and a damaged takeout box (courtesy of our server), our overall experience was rather pleasant, and we look forward to dining here in the future. The only reason that I am rating this as a 4 and not a 5, is because we both felt that the server could've been a bit more active. This restaurant is great for couples, groups, and anyone looking for a great place to dine...
Read moreI've never been to an O'Charleys before, as I'm not from this area and only here on a short business trip. I just stopped in for an early dinner and my server was top notch. I am probably not remembering her name correctly, but I think it was Savannah?
I ordered the Cajun sirloin and I didn't like it. (Just wasn't my taste, which is absolutely no fault of the restaurant!) When they served my meal, they asked me to cut into it to ensure it was cooked to my liking. In a hurry, I did, and at first it looked fine. I had ordered medium, and I saw some pink so I figured it was fine and told the food runner that it was good. Once they walked away, I cut into it further and could actually see that it was EXTREMELY rare - actually cool in the center.
It really was fine, and I just ate around the edges, but again, did not care for the flavor, so I just ate the sides and then was finished.
When my server came to check on me, she asked "was the steak okay?" And I said, "it really just wasn't my type of flavor, it was okay. It was also undercooked but honestly, that didn't bother me! I'm really okay!"
She took it away and came back shortly after and said that her manager wanted to remove it from my bill and that they were so sorry that this happened, etc. I couldn't believe it! I immediately said, "nooooo, please don't do that -- I did not want anything for free, and it really just was the flavor which wasn't anyone's fault!"
They insisted, and the manager, Alicia, came over and insisted further that I not pay for the meal.
I have worked in customer service for over 25 years - and I can very much tell when someone really goes above and beyond to make sure the customer feels cared for and appreciated, and I received that level of service today from my server and her manager.
Thank you both for the kind gesture, even though it wasn't necessary, it was definitely...
Read morewhere do I start, me and 2 of my friends were wanting to go out somewhere decent for 2 birthday meals (one came down from PA but that is irrelevant) when arriving to the restaurant, it was not clear where to even enter, we ended up walking into some locked off area where we were met with caution tape and a tablet and were screamed at to go around to the other side, which was rude since we were clearly not aware of.
It was desolate inside, so we should have gotten service with little to no issue, even seeing 2 other waitresses standing at the bar and sitting at the entrance on their phones. Once seated we were asked for our drinks and the waitress asked us for our drinks; I asked for a pink lemonade, my one friend asks for a coke, and the other (a heavier set gentleman) ordered a diet coke. Once she brought back our beverages we were ready to order, excited at how good the food sounded and looked, when she took our orders and got to my mentioned friend he ordered only a side of fries since he was not very hungry, and she says "is that seriously all you want?" and than says "you look hungrier than that" and put the menu around 3 inches from his face and was pointing at items she thought he'd want which is disgusting to do and terrible customer service and rude.
Once our food was distributed amongst us, my other friend got the cajun shrimp pasta, and she never gave us any cutlery, so my friend asks "can I get some cutlery please?" she mocks him and says "CuTlERy" and says something along the lines of "who even says that?" in an incredibly rude manner.
Once eating and seeing the food and portions, we were disappointed, my friend got less than a palm of pasta and exactly 3 pieces of shrimp, my friend with the fries also had barely any on the plate and my chicken bacon ranch sandwich was over cooked and incredibly salty.
Was not worth the $40+...
