The best authentic Mexican food ever I gotta say I have eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants all over and this by far is the best. The staff here are very welcoming and kind. We had Nicolas as a server he did a fantastic job ,thank you so much. The restaurant is very clean kept up with and appealing. The food was amazingly delicious it was soooo good I had the habanero and the sweet red chill wings. 10/10 recommend the wings. They’re probably the best quality wings I’ve had in a very long time. Tacos Mexicanos were delicious 10/10 recommend. Aguachiles were very good if you are a shrimp lover you will love this it’s so good. Overall best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to 10/10 highly recommend eating here.

There are plenty of Mexican restaurants to choose around Anderson and this wouldn’t be my first choice. The best thing about this one is convenience off the interstate. It does have a little nicer dining room than many other Mexican restaurants since it was previously a Fatz Cafe. The food might have been better if it had been warmer and fresher. The portion was good and I like the way the tacos were served with onions and cilantro on the side to add as I please. I think the flavor of the food was ok but it wasn’t “hot plate” or even very fresh in my opinion - like the meats and sides had been on a warmer for hours and the warmer wasn’t even warm enough. The prices seem a little higher than other Mexican restaurants too. Again the portions might be a little bigger but that probably depends on the dish. We had to ask multiple times for things we needed at our table - like more salsa which we never did get and a side dish we did get but also not warm. I imagine I’ll try this place again at some point since I live in the area, but I can name three or four other places I’d drive a little further to based on this first impression. ….. Came and tried this place again and I probably won’t be back. This time the food was better. Tried the seafood and it was pretty good. Mexican and seafood is an odd theme combo but the seafood was good. The service wasn’t really any better unfortunately. And this time I observed a disdain for cleanliness that is unacceptable for me. I watched as the table beside us was cleaned and it didn’t seem too important to make it welcoming for the next customer. Also the bathrooms were nasty.

Staying at the holiday inn next door and decided to walk over and try out Puerto Nuevo for lunch. I was going to get one of the lunch specials, but looking over the menu, I had to try the Cabo tacos with fish. When a place advertises seafood, you gotta try some seafood, right? Amazing tacos! Definitely add a little salsa and squeeze the provided limes over them for some extra heft to the flavor. They have a whole salsa bar at the back so you can switch it up. The best part of my visit was hand down the service, though. Angela was amazing, and I was well taken care of. Great job, guys. Can't wait to pop in again and continue exploring your menu.

It was my first night in Anderson, and I needed a bite to eat. This place is a pretty good standard Mexican/ TexMex restaurant. Most all of the typical menu items and plenty of additional seafood based options. I was seated as soon as I arrived and had good service throughout the meal. I ordered a somewhat unusual change to Fajitas by adding queso, but they obliged me, and it was delicious. It was my first time having pork in Fajitas as well, and it was great! Would go back if ever visiting Anderson again.

We came with our family for my son's birthday. Outdoor area had yard games and chairs, but there was no wait for a table for 6. We were seated quickly and greeted with warm chips and a great salsa bar. (We lived the mango salsa). Food portions were huge and reasonable priced. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We highly recommend the quesabirras, chili relleno, and tamale. Birthday dessert was big enough to share with the whole table. We had a great experience and will definitely come back!
