Wendy's — Restaurant in South Carolina

Hello, I pulled up to drive thru at 5:32pm. I waited until 5:38 for my order to be taken. She wasn't ready I waited another minute. At 5:39 she took my order for 6pcs. I pulled up there was only one car in front of me. She was pleasant at first and so was I. I asked her what she had on the order because it was cheaper than I thought, but she said a 6 piece which was right. She then took my payment and came back with cold nuggets and two of them looked like they had been bitten. I Asked her for some more and she starred at me for like 10 secs as if I was speaking French. She trashed them and walked off. The young guy at the front I waved him yo come over and she chewed him out for coming over and he just closed the window back. When she came back with the nuggets, I handed my receipt to her and asked her for a refund. My exact words were, "I'm sorry if I offended you by asking for more nuggets, but I would like to just have a refund please." She got immediately upset and kept saying that she wasn't offended and that no one hurt her feelings. She then went on to just close the windown and holler for someone named Tina. She and another lady came back yet she is the only that came to the window and the one that handed me back 2 dollar bills, 8 dimes and 2 pennies. "Tina" never came over to address the issue.

Ok, now that you know the issue here's my recommendation. Pay your people more. Because me asking for fresh nuggets should never warrant a stare down. Seriously that was so rude and weird. I tried asking her if that was ok but she shut the door and walked away so fast. Yes her attitude was piss poor. Per this receipt her name is Miy* Funny part in all this is this is only my 2nd time visiting this location in 8-10 years. I came last week and was on the phone with a friend and when I shared where I was at she sigh and said that's the worst Wendy's around. I said really? I wouldn't know. The young dark skin, taller girl who took my order was a stark contrast to Miy**. She was kind, pleasant and she smiled like she WANTED to be at work. All of my food was fresh and hot. So because of that experience, I came back for another visit.

I'm going to ask that you consider the brand and evaluate who you hire and PAY YOUR PEOPLE MORE so they will have better service...

So bad- from food, to service, to everything- SAD! I can’t believe a food chain location so close to Carowinds would be like this. I been there many times before and never seen it this bad. So many locals sad it went down hill fast and they cannot keep staff, so I feel bad that my review may be based on understaffing- but that is not my or any other customers problem. I walked over my hotel and every door was locked ( at 9pm on a Saturday night I never seen the dining area closed let alone no human in sight from the windows. I then had to walk back to my hotel and get my car to drive thru the drive thru since that was the only thing open and it took over 10 minutes to just get the order in. After that I waited… and waited and waited! Food came out in a bag and when I got back to the hotel room- super sad. I ordered a taco salad ( a salad with chili, salsa, sour cream, tortilla chips, etc). Well I got a salad, I got chili ( maybe yesterday’s burger meat?! I always heard and suspected their chili was basically chopped up burger meat and now i can confirm that it has to be- because my chili never had a chunk of meat that was a quarter size and resembled burger meat). I did not get any tortilla chips- I received saltines instead. I did not get sour cream- I got butter instead. My lettuce on my salad had old, brown pieces in it. I added a photo- you can see there is a salad & small salsa cup. The chips ( I had to walk across the street to a gas station to get) and the chili was in my hotel microwave warming up. You can see those amazing saltines and butter- did they REALLY expect me to have salsa, butter saltines and call it a taco salad!?!?!? Just sad,...

I don't know why I keep kidding myself that THIS time will be different when I go get Wendy's. For a month now they have yet to get all the ingredients to the Pretzel burger, mainly the bun and the cheese. Nor have the received any chili or cheese to make chili cheese fries. If u wanted to eat healthy and have a salad, or any other sides, keep dreaming; they are our of those also...just fries is the only side they serve. Even after the long ordeal of ordering something they were actually able to make, they forgot HALF of my entire meal. I ordered 3 sandwiches and 2 drinks and 2 large frostys, and got 2 sandwiches and 2 small frostys. When I tried to explain the error all I got was eye rolling and then told me that I needed to give them my card again to charge me more since they didn't get the order correct the first time....a simple sorry, sir would have sufficed. Maybe I should be the one apologizing to them for thinking the Wendy's on Carowinds Blvd, the same one I have been eating at for 20 years, is the same Wendy's I grew up eating and loved visiting. I guess that is my fault, so here is my apology, "I am sorry for eating at this establishment, it will be the last time I ever set foot on this property again!" Heck, I won't even step foot in the gas station adjacent to it because of the lasting memory this place has instilled in my mind is enough to never look at this place the same way; with the childlike wonder I had eating at this same place for the bulk of my entire life.
