X Golf Hilton Head — Restaurant in South Carolina

We had a terrible experience. The food was good but the customer service was TERRIBLE. Don’t waste your time for over priced fun/food. I understand everyone is short staffed right now. We were a party of ten, not pushy or in a hurry, kids played outside so that’s wasn’t an issue. The issue didn’t come until we waited a 45 mins for food, then one of our meals never came, they kept saying it was “on the way”. We were all done with our food and finally the meal came. The guy offered a free beer (ok, nice gesture) but in my option the meal should’ve been comped. He then argued with us that he gave us a free beer and he couldn’t comp the meal because “nothing was wrong with it and he ate it!” Well, needless to say, we skipped the tip since he wanted to play games. It hurt my soul to not tip, being in the industry myself, but dang dude, give it up. THEN this guy has the nerve to stop the guy in our party who’s meal was late and say “sorry about the meal, I got you a free beer, I mean they could’ve tipped.” Yeah, we could’ve. Poor management, had to track down someone to show us how to use the simulator as it was our first time, had to track down someone for drinks but most of the time couldn’t get a drink, had to track down someone to order lunch and track down someone again when we didn’t have our hot dogs which took over an hour. We booked three hours on the simulator and wasted half our time trying to track down staff. They sat a ton of people in the restaurant and claimed they were short staffed … then don’t seat more tables!! Simple fix because then you wouldn’t have customers feeling ignored for three hours! If we had actually had service we might have gone back but to ignore customers and continue to seat more tables was just ignorant on their part. Only seat what you have...

This was my first time playing at Xgolf Hilton Head. My two sons joined me as they have an interest in learning how to play golf. We had a wonderful time. I saw a few reviews that said service was not the best however we had a completely different experience. The service we received from the time we walked into the door was awesome and above what I would have expected. Both David and John we great, checking in with us constantly as well as providing some very helpful golfing tips. David spent probably 30 minutes giving both of my sons personal golf instruction at no additional charge. I felt the food was great, service was great and will...
